My recent vinyl acqusitions:Celtic Frost - Demon Entrails Mayhem - Ordo Ad Chao Entombed - Serpent Saints Arch Enemy - Rise Of The Tyrant Machine Head - The Blackening Darkthrone - FOAD Behemoth - The Apostasy Obituary - Xecutioner's Return Disfear - Live The Storm Evile - Enter The Grave Out of that lot the Mayhem album has to be the most twisted thing I've heard in over a decade. Yes it's inconsistent, has a terrible production and borders on the unlistenable at times but...it's so damn twisted! I can't stop listening to it! For all it's gaping flaws that should mark it as an unmittigated disaster, it's somehow a masterpiece for exactly those reasons. Probably the bravest album released by any band for some considerable time. Saw them live at Nottingham Rock city - I have never heard a vocal performance like that in a very long time. They were real special, almost possessed. Only got 70 odd minutes because the place turns into some love shack horror at 10.30, but they did themselves proud. If I get the opportunity to see them again I most certainly will. -------------------- Hail Santa...

Yeah, the new Death Angel is some great thrash. It took me a couple of listens to sink in, but it didn't take long to put the hooks in me.In the mail, I got Agalloch's "The White EP" on CD which is really nice. Very mellow, but good quality stuff. Going to see them here in Seattle this coming Friday and very much looking forward to it. With my wife working this last Sunday, I decided to take my 4-year old son with me to the Seattle record show. This of course was not very condusive to digging through box after box of sweet musty vinyl, but I did have some immediate finds before heading off to spend the afternoon doing more fun things such as going on the merry-go-round, & getting ice cream and such. ;-) The vinyl: - GBH: City Baby's Revenge - Eloy: Power And The Passion (gatefold) - Eloy: Dawn - Eloy: Planets (gatefold - I am on a big Eloy kick lately, in case you haven't noticed, haha) - The Rods: s/t - The Rods: Let Them Eat Metal (found these both for $3 each!) - Arthur Brown: The Crazy World Of... (always thought I owned this until recently discivering I didn't. Pretty much a required purchase) -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Haven't posted in here in a while! So recently I was at the recieving end of an apparantly HUGE computer malfunction that the BMG Club encountered. I went on there to cancel one of my 4 accounts (haha), and noticed they had a 2/3 off all CD's and if you bought 4 or more, there would be free shipping. So I was like, cool, let's see what they got. Somehow I ended up in the boxed set section, which I never go, and noticed that the deal applied to those as well (which it really wasn't supposed to, they specifically say it only applies to single and double CD untis). So I'm lookin at what they have, and THEN I realize their internal price calculator is knocking off 2/3 of the already discounted price. I could not fuckin believe it! Of course it wasn't supposed to, so I scrambled to find as many boxed sets as I like to made the order before they found out this problem and corrected it. It was like being high on crack, I swear (uhh, yeah). So I was able to order:The Who (4 cd's) Allman Brothers Band (4) ZZ Top (4) Scorpions (3) The Doors complete Studio (7) $22 Bowie (4) Sublime (4) The Cure (4) Faces (4) Steve Miller Band (3) How much did I pay for all of this? $120. I shit you not. Free shiping on ALLL of it. So a few days later they realized they had fucked up and cancelled some of my other orders, I had Zep and the Police, Hank Williams, they flat out lied to me and said they didn't carry them any more, scrambling to make up for their mistake. But the damage had already been done, I ripped the system --------------------

Wow Nuc, what a great steal, er, deal. That price on The Doors box is downright thievery, heheh.Just in from Galy Records... Dead Brain Cells! - Dead Brains Cells - Universe - Unreleased Finally able to discard my CDR copies after all these years. The reissues are very nice and Galy Records hooks you up with the fat pack of extras, including posters, stickers, a promo CD, etc. Came accross a used copy of Venom's "Metal Black" for $7 the other day. Why did I purchase this, I don't really know? Cronos still sounds great, but this album is such a mess otherwise, haha. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

The most disturbing thing about the artwork to me was the size of that guy's nipple ) -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop
