Haha, I practically did fall over. Seattle shops are still hanging on in terms of being able to keep fresh and interesting stock. Not as good as it used to be, but still a lot of possibilities. Found these used CDs yesterday... just rounding out some discographies here... except maybe the Acid Mother Temple disc, I'm nowhere close to trying to collect all of those. - Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso UFO: Pink Lady Lemonade ~ You're From Outer Space - AC/DC: Flick Of The Switch [2003 remaster] - Yes: Yesshows [remaster] And a friend gave me this under the advice that I will like it, after some time. Have not yet given it a spin, but plan to... - The Black Keys: Magic Potion -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

I just saw this today and should have bought it... only $5 after all and the tunes are pretty alright. There's just something about modern Metallica cover art that makes me hesitate the purchase. I did take these with me.... - Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Parasio UFO: Magical Power From Mars - Edge Of Sanity: Infernal - Spiritual Beggars: Mantra III [new reissue on The End Records] - Witchfinder General: Friends Of Hell Been slowly working my way through collecting the Edge Of Sanity discography, so this was a welcome piece of that puzzle. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Haha, true enough! Historically, Metallica albums haven't always sported the strongest cover art, but since the 90s, most of their stuff (especially the singles. etc) looks like cheap tattoo shit. Dave, did you ever listen to Pushead's band Septic Death? I was pretty heavy into the "Now That I Have Your Attenttion..." album back in '85. Great artwork, but musically... not for the faint of heart, haha. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

I just can't handle the Septic Death vocals, but I dig Pusshead's fucked up art work. For all the money Metallica has, it blows my mind that they can't afford a cool cover for their releases, or for that matter pay to have an album remixed that sounds absolutely horrible.H - I'm with ya on Hetfield's vocals. He seems like he's trying too hard to try to sing, instead of just doing what is natural with his voice, like he did in the early days. A lot of his delivery with his vocals sounds so forced and just off to the point where I have to cringe. Today's mailbox: LEADFOOT - Bring It One LEADFOOT - Take A Look ANATHEMA - Were You There? (dvd) picked up at Walmart today: CROWDED HOUSE - Intriguer -------------------- yawn

I am so glad to read that!!! I thought Tattoo was a horrendous tune to use as the first song from the album and wasn't planning on buying it based on how horrible it is; however, after hearing more samples from other songs I heard enough decent stuff to take a chance on ordering it... just hasn't arrived yet; but I'm looking forward to it now. Thanks. Tattoo isn't even good enough to on the Van Cherone album. -------------------- yawn

YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! I received Van Halen - A Different Truth yesterday, took it to work today and I'm on my 4th spin of the day. It's not FAIR WARNING (no Van halen album is, it's their best that will never be topped... at least to my ears) But I'll have to say this new one is as good as any of their other albums. A few weak tunes but it's got a great variety of classic VH vibe running through the entire album. From balls out to that laid back "Ice cream Man" cool shit... Great Come Back. I take back all the mean shit I said about this album, it definitely will NOT collect inches of dust like the Van Cherone cd. picked up a couple used disc at the FYE yesterday to fill some gaps: Mercyful Fate - Dead Again (pretty fukin good stuff here) King Diamond - Abigail (cd/dvd remastered & extended version) Slayer - Show No Mercy (i had eBayed my rare original RoadRacer version a few years ago because I knew I could get some good money for it... and I did, So I'm finally getting around to replacing it) -------------------- yawn

Nice finds all around Dave! Need to check out that King Diamond Abigail reissue.Hey, was that Roadracer copy Show No Mercy a CD (not vinyl)? What was so desirable about that version? Just curious. The very first CD I ever bought in my life was the Metal Blade CD release of Show No Mercy from 1987! Still have it too, though it doesn't seem to have gained (or retained) any value over the years, haha. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Do you remember the slimline jewel cases that the tray folded to get the disc out? That's what my Slayer was in. I also had a couple of the first Mercyful Fate cds released with these cases which I also eBayed. I'm looking at my TOKYO BLADE "self titled" cd now which is in the same style case and it's actually Roadrunner, not Roadracer. I ebayed the Hell Awaits, Show No Mercy, Melissa, & Don't Break The Oath which all made good money when the bidding ended. I guess I figured the Tokyo Blade wasn't worth the time to auction, since I kept it... or maybe because I didn't know if I could find a cheaper newer version of it. The Slayer & Fate albums had been remastered and reissued so I knew I could make some money, buy the remasters and still have money left over to buy more music, and since I'm not an obsessive fanatic of either band where I needed 5 versions of the exact same album, it was a no brainer. Funny, after looking at the little Roadrunner catalog inside the Tokyo Blade booklet, I've just realized I also have Raven "All For One" in this slim line tray folding case... I need to listen to that disc, now -------------------- yawn

Thanks Dave, I don't think I've ever really come accross any of those Roadrunner versions at all. Wonder if their were different pressings for East Coast/West Coast back in the 80s? All the original CD versions of those albums out here were just on Metal Blade or Combat in standard jewel cases. Also taking into account Metal Blade being in California and the first USA branch of Roadrunner located in NYC.So, have another Seattle Record Show coming up on the 26th, so holding back until then... just a couple of find from the local Silver Platters... - Eloy: Ocean 2 ~ The Answer - Far East Family Band: Parralel World It appears I have the full discography in place for the Far East Family Band... Good Japanese psychedelic/space rock somewhere inbetween Pink Floyd and Tangerine Dream if you have a brain built for this kind of music. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop
