It is a pretty laid back album. Not very much highlights imho.. Guitarsolos are little sloppy. I wont buy it, put '78 solo album on... -------------------- trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr

Man, I love Accept's Restless And Wild album! Maybe my all time fav by them. Been kind of on an early Accept kick here... this vinyl garage guy near my house had their early albums for sale on the Brain label for like $5 each, so I'd been going back and nabbing them up (except for Metal Heart, which was a US edition).- AC/DC: For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) - AC/DC: Flick Of The Switch - Accept: I'm A Rebel - Accept: Metal Heart - Eloy: Performance - English Dogs: The Thing With Two Heads - Mercyful Fate: Don't Break The Oath [2014 reissue, transparent yellow vinyl] - Metallica: ...And Justice For All [2014 reissue 2xLP on Blackened Recordings] - Pentagram: Day Of Reckoning [reissue] - David Coverdale's Whitesnake: Snakebite (1977) - ZZ Top: ZZ Top's First Album Maybe overdid it and bought the English Dogs on CD too, haha. And Justice For All was one of the first albums I bought on CD back in the 80s, but never owned on vinyl before today. Kind of completes the thrash-era Metallica vinyl collection. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

quote: Originally posted by newclear infusion: I remember walking into the record store and checking the Voivod section, and there was Negatron, I didn't even know Voivod had a new album! I got home, opened it, and to my surprise Snake was absent...I didn't even know he had left the band!!
I had a similar experience and for some weird reason I had assumed (or heard?) that Voivod had broken up, so was happily surprised to see Negatron on the shelf in front of me. While I was initially saddened to see Snake was missing, I was actually really happy to hear them returning to a heavier sound. Eric's singing on Negatron reminded me of Dan Kubinski on the first Die Kreuzen album, so wasn't a big stretch for me to adapt to the new sound. It's a solid little chapter of the Voivod story and I prefer it to the relatively watered down Newsted period. Picked up a few items lately, all vinyl. - Ted Nugent & The Amboy Dukes: Call Of The Wild - Electric Wizard: Time To Die [2xLP] - Kiss: Destroyer - Misfits: Walk Among Us [reissue] - Opeth: Pale Communion [2xLP] - Yob: Clearing A Path To Ascend [2xLP] The new Yob is fantastic! -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

I'm still around, but haven't made the time to post here. Buying lots of Foo Fighters cd singles for my collection and so much other stuff, I gave up trying to list them all here.I had the same experience with VOIVOD Negatron. I was buying most of my music at that time through dealers in Goldmine magazine and when I saw a new Voivod with a title I hadn't heard of before I immediately ordered it. Of course back then there was no internet to keep me up to date about bands and I was living on the Delaware shore by then with only Goldmine as my source of music news, so I was clueless about what was happening., When I received it and listened to it I was immediately bummed that Snake was gone because I thought they had progressed and evolved so far from where they started and this was like taking a step back to Killing Technology because of the vocals. It took a long time for me to really get into the Eric era but I was just glad the band was still making music... just bummed about not hearing Snake's unique voice. Anyway, hell hasn't frozen over and I am still buying a stupid amount of music on cd and vinyl. Oh, and Mez, Pale Communion is better than Heritage. Very throwback progressive sound and the entire album holds up together better than Heritage, which seemed to lose me about 1/2 way through. I listened to the vinyl last night which was great, and the 5.1 surround mix is also stunning, thanks to Steven Wilson. -------------------- yawn

Heading to a record show this weekend, so hoping to score some good tunes! In the meantime, I nabbed a few things here and there this week. CDs... - Electric Wizard: Time To Die - Exodus: Blood In, Blood Out [deluxe version w/DVD] - Melvins: Hold It In - Sanctuary: The Year The Sun Died - Yob: Clearing The Path To Ascend Vinyl... - Can: Monster Moview [reissue] - Can: Soundtracks [reissue] - Iron Maiden: Sanctuary [7-inch reissue] - Iron Maiden: Women In Uniform [7-inch reissue] - Iron Maiden: Purgatory [7-inch reissue] I already have so many of these Iron Maiden singles from the 80s (mostly in the 12-inch format), but considering rounding up all of these 7-inch reissues. The 3 I nabbed already seem pretty nice. Not sure why I'm buying CDs for stuff I just recently bought on vinyl? OCD in full effect, I suppose, haha. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop
