VADER - The Beast;
VADER - Night of the Apocalipse DVD;
OPETH - Lamentations DVD (cheeeeap!).

--------------------

"Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Oh yeah, both of you are correct: the DVD is low-priced AND, most of all, brilliant.

Plus, I love Damnation, so it's great to actually watch them play it entirely.

GREAT BAND!!

I got the ASSJACK demo for my b-day.....It's 33 minutes of intoxicating brutality! Hank III sells it to "those" he knows (it is not supposed to be sold, the record label is fucking him around BIG TIME with this thing, because he is a 'country' singer, not metal)...

I dunno why I always skip this thread? Lots of good comments and curiosities about what's out there. You guys are right about that Opeth DVD, great stuff and a helluva price!

My most recent purchases (about 2 weeks ago):
- Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine: Biomech
- Kreator: Enemy Of God and Outcast (to replace mp3 copies)
- Death Angel: The Art Of Dying (same thing, great fucking album!)
- Pitchshifter: Desensitizied (from their industrial/grindcore days, really good!)
- Yob: The Illusion Of Motion (luv the DOOM!)
- Thorr's Hammer: Dommedagsnatt (reissue, came with a 30min mpeg video, awsome!)
- Celtic Frost: To Mega Therion (reissue, sounds great! I need to break down and buy MT and ITP as well)

Money's been tight so I've been slower than usual with the incmoning CD/records... However, I am going to the Seattle record convention this weekend and will hopefully find some good vinyl stuff! Last convention I was lucky enough to find a still-sealed vinyl copy of Confessor's "Condemned" album if you can believe that! Looking mostly for Budgie, Lucifer's Friend, weird 70's hard rock and prog, etc. as well as '80s thrash and hardcore. Though probably not at the convention, I'll be hunting for the Death Angel box and the new Enslaved as well.

I've got all the BUDGIE on vinyl except "If Swallowed do not induce vomitting" I was never able to find that one years ago when I was going insane over Budgie and buying all their stuff (long before Metallica covered them). I'm sure I can easily find it on Gemm, but I have those songs on the Power Supply cd from years ago. They released all their albums with lots of bonus songs and video... I might have to invest in the entire collection again.

I received a cdr of the new PORCUPINE TREE 'DEADWING' album from a friend while at the Blackfield show last saturday... let's just say it hasn't come out of the cd player since I put it in!!! This will be the album that all prog metal will be compared to for years to come... and the rest will fall short of this masterpiece. It's got everything, all rolled into one... fuckin amazing. Can't wait for the official releases to come out... the European in a few weeks, the domestic US in April followed by the 5.1 mix in March with extra tracks... and then the tour comes to the states in May!!!!!

DAVE =

Luna is officially awesome.

I got the Attilla Csihar "best of" the other day, I love this guy. So unique. Tormentor were a good band, too.

it's been a while since I had a reason to head to the store for new release day (my favorite day of the week) but I went today for:

OZZY - PRINCE OF DARKNESS (4cd box set) this is a cool collection with lots and lots of unreleased and hard to find gems.

OVERKILL - RELIX IX
what a consistant group, and they rarely fail to thrash my brains out of my skull and this disc is no exception. thrash - speed - punk - metal - with a fuck U attitude !!! yeah baby this kills big time

SINCH - CLEARING ALL CHANNELS
i liked the first self titled cd and was looking forward to there sophmore release. not as catchy as the first upon first listening nut still a damn fine album... and Baltimore home-boy Drew Mazurek produced it!!! Drew had his hands in almost every Baltimore local metal group back in the day, and it's cool to see his name on some major releases

I downloaded the QOTSA thanks to someone on this site posting a link but wasn't impressed enough to warrant buy the cd. I'm bummed because I really enjoy their other releases and was looking forward to this one... oh well, I'll save my $12.00... well, I'll buy something else
