That would be Signals, Mezcalhead. I personally love it. Grace Under Pressure is probably my fave Rush CD. I already have it, Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves, Farewell To Kings and Power Windows on vinyl. I already have 2112 on CD. My Caress Of Steel tape went missing several years ago.

Fuck, what with the Priest, Venom, Rush and Maiden remasters I've started collecting I'm gonna need a second job! Maybe at a record shop...
Queensryche is remastering/reissuing their back catalogue too, so I'll be buying that as well.

GREAT CD!

Excellent purchase Stan! That's one of my all time fave cd's. I had to go buy it on vinyl just cause it rocks soooo much. Saw them live a few months back. Fucking amazing.

I have to give thanks to the new "CD Scan Listening Stations" that are all over FYE (For Your Entertainment), where i bought all that.
FYE is one of them expensive Mega-Stores inside the Mall here in Irving.

You can pick up nearly any CD in the store, Scan the Barcode, put on the Headphones and listen to samples of every song!
Its a great concept!

Believe it or not...that ATOMIC BITCHWAX CD was the first one i grabbed, outta the blue & not knowing what it was!
(I was only wanting to test the Scanning station, for my first time.)
When i heard the first track...i was BLOWN AWAY!

Can you believe that? Wow!
Talk about Dumb Luck!

I plan on going back this weekend and getting theyre 2nd CD...if its still there.

I could spend all Day in that Store, Scanning & Sampling CD's!

haha, i finally get to post in this thread

1.DANZIG 777 I LUCIFERI
-i was expecting a mediocre danzig this time, from the sound of the 1/2 minute samples at cheap-cds.com
what i got was one of the best danzig cds ever
i'm not shitting you, download a track or two, if you dare

2.Red Harvest-Sick Transit Gloria Mundi
-this and the danzig cd are the two best releases of the year, no question
again, download a track or two and find out, bitch
lots of techno posturings, though, but very heavy, the future of metal, how voivod would sound if they were on top of things

3.Celtic Frost-To Mega Therion
-congratulations on getting your name inside a celtic frost cd, St. Michael
-i love h.r. giger artwork, super trippy

4.King Diamond-Fatal Portrait
-every night, to me, is halloween
-classic

If you like anything slightly retro / 70's / stoner then this is the cd that puts all others to shame. I even prefer it to Kyuss for that kinda thing, but I'm in the minority there. It's Ed Mondell from Monster Magnet's side project, and is the best thing he's done. The first album is the best by far.
Unfortunately they've split up now.

Just returned from Circuit City with:
Queens Of The Stone Age: self titled
Queens Of The Stone Age: Rated R
Foo Fighters: One By One (with bonus dvd)
Iron Maiden: Rock In Rio double dvd which I will be watching soon!

Thanks H & Satan for all the good words on QOTSA. I listened to the first one on the way home and it RAWKED

Just watched about 1/2 of the Maiden dvd and it was amazing. They still act and run around stage like their still in their early 20's. Bruce's voice sounds incrdeible, and the band is 'ON'. I do have to laugh at Janick Gers sometimes for his constant metal poses while on stage...I think he's still lost in the 80's, and it seems a bit comical to me now.

LOL! Janick looks like an idiot most of the time. This was a hot topic on the Iron Maiden BB for a long time: The Janick Bashers VS The Janick Fans. They stopped all that just recently with an edict: "No Janick Bashing" Actually, it was more like "no bashing of current or former Iron Maiden members will be tolerated" but we all knew what was meant.
BTW, I just popped a couple od CDs in the mail for ya. Enjoy!

Any of you guys from the old days on the "old forum" remember Hypercube? I still talk with him occasionally and I just got three great cds from him today. BTW, Corpse, he's tried to register on this site several times but can't seem to get on. Anyway, here's what he sent:

PESTILENCE: From the riff-meister Mameli, Testimony of the Ancients. Technical, neck-snapping bliss. I love this album and also his vox which reek with rage. What a fucking guitar player. Shit, I'd forgotten how incredible he was.

NomeansNo: Dance of the Headless Bourgiese. Great pop-punk and I can hear what the guy is saying compared to the ragereeker above. Killer bass licks as well. Still absorbing this. Yum, yum. Remember several of you guys posting about this band.

Ween: 12 Great Golden Country Greats. Takes me back to the old days of George Jones and Hank. Makes me want to go to my pickup, lift the hood, crack open a beer, and just stare at the engine.

It isn't really a cd, but more like a dvd. Picked up the new Napalm Death DVD 'Punishment in Capitals' last week. It's fantastic. Crystal clear footage and great sound...

MVC got a big sale on, so I picked up Led Zep 4, Who's Next and Hounds of Love (Kate Bush).

Maybe that Motorhead gig sapped my need for metal for the time being. Maybe I should cut my hair?

Got an idea. What about shaving only half of it, in some well known bassist (to us) fashion?

As a matter of fact, I just got a copy of Kreator's "Coma of Souls".
I thought I would re-visit the CD, not having liked it much the first time around.
Unfotunately, I am not hearing a great Kreator album here.
It seems as though they rushed the entire process, from composition and arrangements, right through recording and production. Maybe half the problem is the anticipation level brought on by the previous album, "Extreme Aggression", which is a classic. I don't know what else to blame this on, as there were no line-up changes between the two except for the addition of former Sodom Lead Guitarist Frank 'Blackfire' Gosdzik. I can't imagine that making things worse.
There are some great jams and especially lead work here, but the arrangements are like patchwork, and it lacks the distinctive dissonant, biting arpeggios of songs like "Storming With Menace" and "Ex. Agg.".
The real follow-up to Extreme Aggression came out last year, in the brutal form of "Violent Revolution". FUCK, what a great album that is.

I would like to hear some other opinions on this.

I think I have just written a review!

I liked Coma of Souls... It was the first album I ever heard of the guys. Maybe not all the songs are equally good, but my fave's are When the sun turns red, Coma of souls, People of the Lie, Terrorzone and Hidden Dictator...Nothing seems to be wrong with the production either. Along with Extreme Agression my favourite Kreator-albums. Saw them live this year, and they kicked *$$. It was like time stood still in 1989.

Got a nice deal today:

Black Sabbath - Mob Rules
Megadeth - Peace Sells...
Megadeth - Rust In Peace

for $35.00!!!

I already have 'em on vinyl, but I've been looking for all of these on CD and just happened upon them. Mob Rules is probably my fave Sabbath album. I'm cranking Voodoo right now.

That's a triple crown NV. The EV150 intro
to "Mob Rules" could very well go into
that "Mind Fuck" thread.
In the mailbox today: the remastered
ACE OF SPADES & DOWN 2.

Agreed. I like it a lot better than "Heaven And Hell", at least. IMHO, it ranks alongside the the first four ones.
