I have to give thanks to the new "CD Scan Listening Stations" that are all over FYE (For Your Entertainment), where i bought all that. FYE is one of them expensive Mega-Stores inside the Mall here in Irving. You can pick up nearly any CD in the store, Scan the Barcode, put on the Headphones and listen to samples of every song! Its a great concept! Believe it or not...that ATOMIC BITCHWAX CD was the first one i grabbed, outta the blue & not knowing what it was! (I was only wanting to test the Scanning station, for my first time.) When i heard the first track...i was BLOWN AWAY! Can you believe that? Wow! Talk about Dumb Luck! I plan on going back this weekend and getting theyre 2nd CD...if its still there. I could spend all Day in that Store, Scanning & Sampling CD's!

Any of you guys from the old days on the "old forum" remember Hypercube? I still talk with him occasionally and I just got three great cds from him today. BTW, Corpse, he's tried to register on this site several times but can't seem to get on. Anyway, here's what he sent:PESTILENCE: From the riff-meister Mameli, Testimony of the Ancients. Technical, neck-snapping bliss. I love this album and also his vox which reek with rage. What a fucking guitar player. Shit, I'd forgotten how incredible he was. NomeansNo: Dance of the Headless Bourgiese. Great pop-punk and I can hear what the guy is saying compared to the ragereeker above. Killer bass licks as well. Still absorbing this. Yum, yum. Remember several of you guys posting about this band. Ween: 12 Great Golden Country Greats. Takes me back to the old days of George Jones and Hank. Makes me want to go to my pickup, lift the hood, crack open a beer, and just stare at the engine.

As a matter of fact, I just got a copy of Kreator's "Coma of Souls". I thought I would re-visit the CD, not having liked it much the first time around. Unfotunately, I am not hearing a great Kreator album here. It seems as though they rushed the entire process, from composition and arrangements, right through recording and production. Maybe half the problem is the anticipation level brought on by the previous album, "Extreme Aggression", which is a classic. I don't know what else to blame this on, as there were no line-up changes between the two except for the addition of former Sodom Lead Guitarist Frank 'Blackfire' Gosdzik. I can't imagine that making things worse. There are some great jams and especially lead work here, but the arrangements are like patchwork, and it lacks the distinctive dissonant, biting arpeggios of songs like "Storming With Menace" and "Ex. Agg.". The real follow-up to Extreme Aggression came out last year, in the brutal form of "Violent Revolution". FUCK, what a great album that is.I would like to hear some other opinions on this. I think I have just written a review!

Sacrilege!!! quote: Originally posted by Nuclear Vampire: Mob Rules is probably my fave Sabbath album.
Agreed. I like it a lot better than "Heaven And Hell", at least. IMHO, it ranks alongside the the first four ones.
