Some stuff:- THE HAUNTED - rEVOLVEr (good one, not as old school as before, tho);
- MOTÖRHEAD - Stage Fright (who doesn't need another Head DVD?);
- ENTHRONED - Regie Sathanas (aaah ye good ol' Black Metal...);
- SYSTEM OF A DOWN - Hypnotize (now I can officially announce that the Mezmerize/Hypnotize combo is one of the best releases of the year!).

Visit his website, Ideologic.org, regularly.I don't know, I can't explain why I like it (can anyone actually quantify their personal tastes?), there's just something about a wall of ambient drone when I'm in a certain mood. There aren't many bands that can really tap right into the pulse of that thing called "atmosphere", but Sunn O))) are one of them. It's enthralling. I'd love to see them live, actually. Yes, I have the new Akercocke, and I like it very much. A lot proggier than the last one, but at the same time tighter and far more mature. I miss the big, epic songs like "Praise the Name of Satan" (first few minutes of that song is awe-inspiring), but they've cut out a lot of the guff and filler from their sound. I likey.
You're absolutely correct about being in the right mood. I love their song, 'My Wall', where he kind of recites the sonnet over the cool rhythms....but the other stuff...guess I'll just have to keep plowing through it. O'Malley definitely has great talent. I just haven't figured out why yet. Oh you Eurofolk are so lucky to get all the latest releases first. Akercocke is still on preorder here. Ephel hasn't gotten that far. Symbiosis may never even make it over here. Maybe I should check Amazon..........

YELLOW MATTER CUSTARD - One Night In New York.This is a double CD with the audio of the concert, not the DVD (yet). Can't believe why I didn't buy it before, it's fantastic!!! -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Since my computer has been fucked I haven't been able to post much, so here's my update on new cds:RUSH: Rush, Fly By Night, 2112, Counterparts, Test For Echo, Hemispheres, Caress Of Steel, Permanent Waves, Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Hold Your Fire, Presto, Roll The Bones, A Farewell To Kings (all remastered to replace my original catalog) The DOORS: Complete Studio Recordings box set Mudvayne - The Beginning of All Things..., Lost and Found, The End Of All Things... Crowded House: Recurring Dream The Very Best Of cd/dvd set Dave Navarro: Trust No One Blue Oyster Cult: Agents Of Fortune (remastered) all the above were purchsed from BMG Music Club, at incredible prices. I payed an average price of about $4.30 for most of these, and about $7.50 for some of them. The box set only cost about $54.70 and that was with shipping included on those prices.... SWEET DVDS: Fates Warning - Live In Athens (although not recorded in surround sound, this is great, and way better than the shitty recorded they had on the Dynamo dvd)
Judas Priest - Live In The East (oh my fuckin god ! ! ! the Priest are amazing on this 2005 reunion tour. I didn't get the chance to see them on the tour but this dvd makes up for it. Halford and the rest of the band are in top nothch form and the 5.1 and DTS mixes make you feel like you're right there... get it NOW) Deep Purple - Scandanavian Night (cool rare footage of the classic DP line up, with damn good sound mix considering how old the footage is) -------------------- yawn

I went and bought a bunch of CDs at my buddies shop on Boxing Day. He had good deals - buy 2 get the 3rd free. Used Haul: Bad Religion - The Gray Race Fight - War Of Words Overkill - W.F.O. Overkill - I Hear Black Overkill - Under The Influence New Haul: Jet Set Satellite - Vegas (2nd release of a friends band - generic hard rock. Their first album was way better) Scott Hinkson - Tracking Outside In (a friend from work who I've known since childhood. Acoustic stuff mostly) www.jetsetsatellite.com www.scotthinkson.com Then today I bought the new Demons And Wizards coz that was the only CD HMV had that I was even remotely interested in. And finally the re-issue of the first album by Woods Of Ypres - Against The Seasons: Cold Winter Songs From The Dead Summer Heat showed up in the mail. Fucking awesome band. www.woodsofypres.ca
