Madhouse - 8 Madhouse - 16Rare (the CD's) jazz band that Prince created back in 86/87. MEZ, I want your opinion, being that you seem to be into jazz a lot. Is he just screwing around or was he serious? jizz link --------------------

Paul, great bunch of vinyl you have on your list. The NOTHING TO LOSE is a book, not a dvd; but so far it's a great read. It's all about the beginning of their career and it's from speaking with all the members of the band, roadies, managers, sound guys, concert goers, friends, family, other bands... it's great.Today's international deliveries: OVERKILL - The Electric Age (limited neon yellow vinyl 010/100) OVERKILL - Live From Oz (limited green 10' vinyl 036/100) -------------------- yawn

Enjoyed my visit to the mighty Sound Garden in Baltimore, MD this last week. Didn't go too bananas, but took home the following.Vinyl... - Pantera: Power Metal [surely unofficial repress] - Sir Lord Baltimore: s/t 2nd album [180g reissue] CDs... - Angel Witch: As Above, So Below - Captain Beyond: Live In Texas October 6, 1973 [official bootleg] - Hawkwind: Astounding Sounds, Amazing Music [expanded remaster] - Hawkwind: Quark, Strangeness And Charm [2-disc expanded remaster] Not sure where that Pantera LP came from, but it looks to be a pretty close replica of the original version with only the 1988 Metal Magic credits, etc. The biggest giveaway is the heavy vinyl and the fact that it wasn't hundreds of dollars. A cool item for the 'ol collection. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Cool find, dude! Unfortunately almost any of the older Pantera LP's/CD's are almost always bootlegs and fake, unless they have the unique inserts of the fan club back then and stuff like that. Having said that, they were cheaply made DIY units that the band would literally sell out of the trunk of their car, I'm sure the vinyl was pretty flimsy, so you got a deal getting a heavier grade haha!! I have their first 3 cassettes so I know those are real haha, bootlegging tapes isn't really an "in" thing yet. I have 'Power Metal' on CD and for the longest time thought it really was the official release but then I noticed mis-spellings and such, dead giveaway. Nonetheless, it still sounds amazing, at least they didn't rip vinyl for it, like the other CD boots out there. Power Metal was the only early 'Tera album that they released as a CD, so at least it was just an exact copy. Still bummed I shelled out $45 back in '06!! --------------------

I bought (and already read) Max Cavalera's "My Bloody Roots" autobiography. Let's say I expected a lot more. Even more superficial than Iommi's book (which I like, btw).Plus, about the Max/Sepultura split, after reading Max's version of it, which explains nothing, it looks easier to believe Sepultura's version. Of course the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but this middle is probably a lot closer to the Seps. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Some CDs in the mail this week.- Buffalo: Volcanic Rock - Dark: Round The Edges - Gila: s/t album (aka Free Electric Sound) - Gomorrha: I Turned To See Whose Voice It Was Long familiar with all of these albums, so nice to finally own them proper. Jamming to the Gila album right now and it is post-hippie dark psych weirdness at its best. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop
