Just received today:
STEVE WILSON - Altamont: this is a picture disc vinyl lp that contains music Steve created when he was about 15 - 16 years old. Krautrock, psych, space, ambient. Limited to only 300 copies of which 200 were for sale on www.burningshed.com

Burning Shed Sampler cd: good collection of many unknown artists, laid back music, ambient stuff, spacey. Burning Shed releases cdrs on demand and is a great place to shop for this genre of music. I'm not a huge fan of it but it's cool to listen to sometimes and this sampler is a great mix of what the label has to offer

Tomahawk - Live in Paris France February 18 2002 - bootleg cdr I borrowed from a friend to copy

I also just d/l'd a cool Eddie Vedder show when he played at Roger Daltrey's 50th Birthday party in 1994, and also a cool BRAD show that was aired on a radio webcast to promote the new album Welcome To Discovery Park. Go to www.theskyiscrape.com if you are interested in downloading for yourself.

Well Hex to tell you the truth CH is out of Terre Haute (what the hell does that mean?) Indiana, but I see your point. I just joined to get mostly remasters. I love going to indie record (CD) stores an finding stuff, but it was too easy to pass up getting un-used stuff for cheaper. (everyone down here has shitty taste so there isn't even a good selection of used stuff). I found better stuff from a 'guy' walking down the street with a bag full of CDs that he was "cough" selling...I didn't buy any.

Just picked up the new BLUE OYSTER CULT 'A LONG DAY'S NIGHT'.
It's a live show from the last tour and it fuckin kicks ass. Great set list. Can't wait for the DVD of this!!!!!!

Porcupine Tree "In Absentia" was released Tuesday I still await my preorder from Best Buy but I've had the promo for a while and it's another MASTERPIECE. Heavy-psychedelic-psycotic-groove-ambient-trippy-brutal-beautiful.

I just got a fucking awesome haul:

In Flames - Reroute To Remain
Excellent album. Defietly not nu-metal like the rumors said.

Nile - In Their Darkened Shrines
OMFG this album rules. The hype was real - this is one of the best death metal albums I've ever heard.

and here's a couple I downloaded until they're released here and I can buy 'em:

Darkane - Expanding Senses
Killer thrash album. I highly recommend this to everyone. Get their last one Insanity as well.

Hammerfall - Crimson Thunder
These guys rock. Best power metal band out there. There's plenty o' cheese but I don't care, it still kicks ass.

Oooh...not three hours ago I was pointing out Tony Levin to my wife, as he was on TV(Top Of The Pops 2 performing with Peter 'Gandalf' Gabrial) - she wasn't impressed but then he wasn't wearing his fingersticks!

Elephant Talk is my favourite Tony Levin track, but his solo stuff is pretty bloody good too! Not at all what you'd expect, but very much like all the other stuff on Discipline Records.

P.s. I don't remember who told me this in this forums but he gave me a link to an angel rat cd on ebay . well , i've won it ... yey ... i'll have it in a week or so . Thanks to the guy who gave me the link

yeah yeah , i've bought QOTSA . It's a cool , refreshing album i must say and the DVD that comes with is damn cool too did ya hear ? Releasing a bonus DVD with an album is something very cool IMO ( my last sentence was directed to Voivod's members so they can grant my wish to see a bonus DVD on the next album ... )

A few days before I bought

ACCEPT - Balls To The Wall
CHROMA KEY - Dead Air For Radio

Kevin is so melancholic in his solo albums... I just love him.

Last night I went to a local used CD shop and got these 3 beauties:

Razor - Open Hostility This was a find. Not only is the insert in mint shape (with lyrics, unlike the re-issue coming out which I will also buy) but there were 2 small pieces of paper inside: and order for for Razor merch and a form to join the Fringe mailing list! It's like the CD was never opened! I'm very happy with this one.

Napalm Death - Diatribes Not exactly their heaviest album, but I've always liked it. Here's the kicker: it's fucking autographed! I saw them on that tour and knew a guy who got his signed by Shane, Jesse and Barney (which happen to be the ones on my new purchase)and not only do the autographs look the same, but I think it's the SAME FUCKING CD! He used to punch a small hole in the back cover of all his CDs and guess what this one has? This is too strange!

Jeffrey & Humphrey - The Smartest This is a local "group" of "gangster style rappers" that only costs $2.99. They rap terribly and sound like their jaws are wired shut. They're always going on about how they're the smartest and NOT the dumbest. The production is weak and the samples are bad, but it's supposed to be that way. Oh, I gues I should mention it's a comedy CD.

Dude, I like 'em all, but I'd have to say Colony is their best work. Some folks will disagree and say their more death metal stuff was better. They'll recommend The Jester Race, which also kicks ass.
I still say Colony.

I am looking forward to buying the new Nile, but, as it is a recent release, it's still a bit too expensive. It won't have a proper release here in Brazil, so I gotta go for import. "All we need is just a little patience", or something...

Anyway, my recent acquisitions are:

Kreator - Endless Pain - the reissue, with the 'Tormentor' demo as bonus tracks. I always thought of it as better than "Pleasure to Kill" (and better than the majority of their albums, BTW).

Ratos de Porão - Onisciente Coletivo - what a better day to buy a CD than the day of its release? Yup, released yesterday, bought yesterday. And it smokes, as always. Good for you guys it will reach the US/Europe, via Alternative Tentacles. Prime hardcore!

And I'm still waiting for my Limbonic Art CD to come...

Good ones Hexonxonx! Man, I almost wish I hadn't bought all my Crimson releases in the mid 90's! Those 30th Anniversary re-issues are sweet! The only one I picked up was Islands since I had the original cd release of that which was mastered poorly.

The Eyes Of Stanley Pain is excellent! As a fan of both Skinny Puppy & Dead Voices On Air, this Download album in particular is a favorite of mine! Spybey's a noise master!

I recently came into a few goodies too...
- Comae: s/t (this is a project of Robert Hampson & Janick Shaefer... extremely quiet ambient/sound recording with slight noise elements. Very cool and trips my dog out a lot!)
- Legacy (pre-Testament): Reign Of Terror Demos (Great early stuff with Zetro on vocals! I remember hearing this version of Burnt Offerings way back in '85! Very happy to fianlly own this recording!)
- Pantera: Metal Magic, Projects In The Jungle, I Am The Night, & Power Metal (All the glam albums on 2 cds! Some of the funniest shit I've heard in years! HAHAHA!)

Hey Nuclear Vampire! Yeah, those are bootlegs... just cdrs actually. I like Pantera some, but not enough to spend any real money on 'em. I love how they try and pretend they were never like this... especially considering how late into the 80's they were all glammed out.

I know! It fuckin' cracks me up! I told this guy at work about it and he goes "Bullshit, they were never a glam band." so I showed him that anti-Pantera web site and his jaw nearly hit the floor  This gut is a BIG Alice In Chains fan too, so I sent him the link to this site that has pics of them when they were called Alice in Chainz and had big poofy hair! I think I shattered his image of them but good!

H the new KC ep was released on October 8th and the title track "Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With" is heavy as hell and Belew is a monster on vocals...the mini tour with TOOL rubbed off. The EP takes you on the typical KC rollercoaster of sounds from brutal crushing to technically incredible to soaring soundscapes to vocal euphoria. If you like TCoL GET THIS EP NOW...you will not be dissapointed. The full length cd will be out next year and should be phenomenal. They are distributed by Sanctuary Records!!! The saviors of classic metal!!!

Just received today a cd by a band called BLOW UP HOLLYWOOD. Fans of Chroma Key, Porcupine Tree, and similar music will like this.

The new Gov't Mule is pretty damn good. Mezcal you might like this a lot. Many guest appearances including JASONIC on the forst song which is great. Blues-hard rock-jazz-psych-jam-groove.

I'll definately grab that mate! Sounds excellent. Hopefully this'll mean they'll be touring again soon, cause I missed 'em on the CoL tour.
The company I work for has just been bought out by Sanctuary. Now I gotta find out where the blags are!!
