Call me lazy, but finally I got TATSUMAKI. I was hoping it would be released here, but it looks like it won't, so I went for the import.Great DVD, great performances, great bonus stuff. Now if only Voïvod would come to South America for a tour... (hint, hint) -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." I'm into a Queensryche phase ... I only had "Empire", "O:M II" and "O:M" on vynil, so I got all crazy and purchased "Rage for Order", "Operation:Mindcrime" and "Promised Land" on CD, plus "Operation Livecrime" on DVD. Loving all of it.Also I ordered Dark Angel - Leave Scars (Black Edition) ... love that album, the packaging is awesome and it has 4 live bonus tracks. Heart - "Desire Walks On" ...hahaha ... I got a soft spot for the Wilson Sisters and I'm collecting their catalog... yeah, call me a poser :-) -------------------- ...I wish I knew the one who knows..

quote: Originally posted by schroeder: IGOR, I go through phases where I can't get enough Queensryche also. It was probably a couple weeks ago when my last phase ended. I love American Soldier along with the other classic Ryche albums. Its one that needs a few listens but there's a lot of damn good stuff on it. After getting the latest SAVATAGE collection of hit with the live from Japan dvd, I think I'm gonna have a Savatage phase and listen to their complete cataloge (except "Fight for the Rock" which I still can't bring myself to buy on cd). Then again I might do the Queensryche phase again, since you just mentioned it. Just finished reading the great Ian Christie book "Van Halen: Everybody Wants Some" and made a 3 cdr collection of all my fav VH tunes that I played to death.
Well, I haven't listened to American Soldier, though I don't have high expectations judging from the reviews ... I have the feeling it's gonna be something like "Hear in the..." which was an album that no matter how much I tried to like, bored me to death. BTW, I find O:M 2 a REALLY good album, in spite of what many people say. I've never been into Savatage... maybe it's time to give them another chance. My G/F has "Best of Both Worlds" ... even though I've never been a huge fan of VH, that is a perfect compilation for nights of poker and beer :-) -------------------- ...I wish I knew the one who knows..

Fair Warning is indeed badass. Man, you really can't go wrong with any of the Dave Lee Roth fronted VH records though, they are all great. My son (now 6) can't get enough old VH these days, haha. Infectious stuff. How's that Clutch album Dave? Hmmm... Took a quick excursion into a local shop on a lunch break and came across a few little items. Happy to get the new Cathedral, for certain! - Cathedral: The Guessing Game - Hypocrisy: The Arrival - Hypocrisy: Catch 22 Still trying to get into the city to check out Dissonant Plane as well as another shop I was clued into that stocks some rare metal, some elusive, barely announced, Agalloch releases among them... We'll see. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

They put the first 15 tracks on the cd and then I had to download the last 3 tunes, free from the liveband.com.au website. I'm really looking forward to their new live dvd that I just preordered.
Cool, thanks Dave. Yeah, I saw the encore download part and that it was a single CD... If it was a double, like "Heard It All Before...", which I love, I probably would have ordered it. Hey yeah! That new double DVD looks mighty awesome, so I know I'll be picking that up. Saw the DRT albums are getting reissued too, interesting... I wish Clutch would release a collection of b-side and one-offs from the early days. They had all those crazy promos and such... would make a cool collection. Apache! HEX! You are a very kind person! Thank you muchly sir! -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Yesterday I went to São Paulo to meet some friends, who came down a couple of thousand miles to see the "no classics" Manowar gig, and do some shopping:FEAR FACTORY - Archetype, Transgression, Mechanize Archetype is already an FF classic, Transgression has its moments but it's far from great and Mechanize is as instant classic, thanks to Dino returning and to Gene Hoglan, great as always. Pure Fucking Mayhem A documentary on the Norwegian BM institution. A pretty average documentary imo, the highlight is the bonus CD with piano versions of many Mayhem songs. The Lemmy action figure The image speaks for itself: -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it."
