YES YOU DID, so here it is again: Just received the advance cd of the new King Crimson "The Power To Believe" and LOVE IT of course. There are a lot of songs they had done on tour and on the Level 5 ep that have been reworked with more parts, powers, production. The songs that were on "happy With What You Have To Be Happy With" ep are a bit different also. song list: the poere to believe 1 - a cappella level 5 eyes wide open facts of life -intro facts of life the power to believe 2 dangerous curves happy with what you... the power to believe 3 the power to believe 4: coda Great diversity from very atmospheric to very brutal, from quirky to beautiful lyrics. I would have like to have heard more newer songs, but overall I'm very "happy with what I have to be happy with" KC never dissapoints me. Anyone who likes the direction they have been headed with this lineup will enjoy this cd. This is going to be a monster when they do it live!!! BTW I just received a 2cd set called THE FIRE THIS TIME which combines music and narration about the Iraqi war and US involvement. Interesting collection. The second cd is without narration. Lots of ambient , style bands: Ashra, Bass Communion (porcupine Tree's Steve Wilson project and why I bought it), Aphex Twins, Orbital,Soma, Bola...more.

Been totally out of money in 2002, now I got a job (my first 'real' job, at 32...) and I can buy shit again! The Great Deceiver - A Venom well designed some good ideas but I expected better. Too much goth cheese, not industrial enough. Ten Years After - Their First Album + Undead + Stonedhenge : remastered + bonus tracks Good old british blues-rock ('67-69); funny that Piggy mentionned Alvin Lee in the Guitar World interview... Motorhead - Bite the Bullet : 2cds of unreleased and alternate versions from 77-82 + the live EPs (Vibrator & Leaving Here): killer compilation, great to have those rehearsals/alternate takes. Ratos de Porao - Cada Dia Mais Sujo E Agressivo (1987) Finally I found it! already had 'Dirty & Aggressive' (english version) but as always the original is so much better. Quite a Crossover album already, closer to 'Brasil' (1989) than 'Descanse Em Paz' (1985) which was really raw street-punk. Highly recommended to all. Teenage Shutdown vol. 5 & 6 (60's garage punk compilations) completing my collection... not the best volumes but interesting material (more moody pop-folk than garage punk). the get it! (raw funk '67-69 compilation) 60's garage funk now, great for parties hehe Unleashed - Hell's Unleashed kinda classic death metal, but hey this album's really good! goes in the 2002 top list. I could say the same for Vader - Revelations. Love their cover of Thin Lizzy's Angel of Death. just heard Impaled - Mondo Medicale : the Carcass style taken to new heights (or depths?)! Tried Theory in Practice: excellent!! Oh, and i'm 'discovering' King Crimson at the moment: totally blown away by their recent material, er... and the older stuff too. Tried Van Der Graaf Generator: boring. I don't like it. Better luck with Amon Duul / Amon Duul II !! For Can freaks, I'd recommend Holger Czukay - Rome Remains Rome if you don't know this one already...

Oh yeah, that was the album that showed RxDxPx to the world, their first real crossover album. I was a very young fella in '87 and the first time I listened to this album was a true revelation (not only for me, but it happened also to be this way to the majority of the Brazilian metal scene), since this was the first hardcore band I actually enjoyed. And I totally agree with you, Neutrino, the portuguese version (Cada dia...) is FAR better than the english one (Dirty...). Apparently, the only ones who didn't enjoy their new "metal approach" were the Brazilian punks, who, from then on, claimed RDP were "traitors of the scene".
