Blasphemer!!

(not you, the song rocks.)

Best thing I've picked up last couple weeks is the latest from LOST SOUNDS. Like a mix of early BLONDIE (think "X Offender") and other stuff like GARY NEUMAN, mixed with some great garage punk moments. Any fans here?

New...

Zombi - Cosmos (Cosmic soundtrack-like act using vintage '70s synths only, very Goblin-inspired)
Bathory - Twilight Of The Gods
Dissection - Maha Kali (new single with one new song and a remake of 'Unhallowed', very nice but not as good as they used to be)
Muse - Absolution

and on vinyl:

Bunkur - Bludgeon (One hour song, knew the demo version of it, this one doesn't differ too much)

--------------------

"Appearing like Ra"

Ozric Tenacles - Live At The Pongmasters Ball 2cd ( I held off long enough on this one, so I finally bought it

That's one of my top 5 favourite albums. It's the best album the DK never recorded. Great tunes, plus Jello never sang so great in his entire career.

I bought:

RAMMSTEIN - Reise, Reise

For the poor ones who didn't get it yet: go go go GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

IRON MAIDEN - The Early Years DVD

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

JUDAS PRIEST - Electric Eye DVD

GOO... well, you got the message.

I was pleasantly surprised how good Jello sang on the Lard cd. He was as comical as he usually was in DK. Very cool disc, indeed.

Your hooked!!! woo hoo!!!
The Creator Has A Mastertape blew me away when I first heard it, and it still does even after listening to it over a thousand times. One of the best records ever recorded. Deadwing should be equally incredible!!!

now get:
Recordings
Stupid Dream
Signify
Lightbulb Sun
Up The Downstair
The Sky Moves Sideways
Coma Divine
Voyage 34

if you want one of Steve Wilson's side projects get BLACKFIELD. It's him and Isreali superstar Aviv Geffen... prog pop... beautiful

I figured by now everyone would have posted the tunes they got for Christmas.

For me:
Black Sabbath-BlackBox 70-78
(to replace the one that was ripped from my car).

and with a gift card i got for Wal-Marts

Metallica-Kill'em All
(After not listening to it since 89 i forgot how great this album was.)

Scorpion-Unbreakable
(Incredible album!!!Best album since Blackout.Even better than Love At First Sting.)

Danzig-Circle Of Snakes
(I had second thoughts about getting this one because i don't care for Danzig but i really wanted to hear Tommy Victor. For those that don't know Tommy Victor is the singer/lead guitar for Prong and he played lead guitar for this Danzig album.Anyway i was very glad i bought this album. It's very good. It's slow and takes a few listens but it's pretty damn good.)

o.k. your turn

Captain Beefheart: Trout Mask Replica
Fela Kuiti: Zombi
Happy Family: Tosco

A XMas present to myself...mailorder from Wayside Music(Cuniform Records) eagerly waiting by the box for these little gems. I've been wanting to hear Trout Mask for years. The second Happy Family album is supposed to be even better than the first so I'm excited about that. And Fela...what can you say?

I was starting to get the shakes from not having bought any new cds...So I just returned from Record & Tape Traders and wasn't able to pick up the Katatonia or The Gathering since they don't stock them, so it looks like I'll be headed to my trusty www.theendrecords.com for those.

But, since I had a $30.00 GC I had to buy something, so I left with:

The Hidden Hand - Mother Teacher Destroyer (Wino is the singer, and I found lots of respect for his talent on the Probot cd)

A Gothic Tribute To TOOL (sounded interested so what the hell)

Buckethead - Colma

Buckethead - The Day Of The Robot

The End - Transfer Trachea Reverberations (the sticker on the front has had me interested in this since I saw it a few months ago "a strikingly diverse display of passionate, articulate heavy music merging spiraling guitars, baffling rhythms and paranoid electronic ambience")

Nuclear Blast 5 track sampler with Amorphis - Mnemic - Malevolent Creation

Lacuna Coil - 3 track sampler

Shadows Fall - 2 tracks from The War Begins
Shadows Fall - 2 tracks fromThe Art Of Balance

A Perfect Circle - Imagine 1 track promo

Cathedral - The Serpents Gold full length promo

I returned the END cd yesterday... the sticker should have also read "beware, the singer sucks"

So I picked up 3 Peter Gabriel cds:
Passion (remastered)

1 (remastered - the cover with the car and rain)

Birdy

Bruce and Wino share the vokills on the Hidden Hand material but it's hard to discern who's singing what. Have you seen them live, schroeder?
