GREAT FUCKIN HAUL OF MUSIC MOTORDETH!!!

Have you heard WRATHCILD AMERICA before?
They evolved into Souls At Zero so if you enjoy the Climbin The Walls tape and you want to hear them get way better and heavier, search out their second release 3-D, then look into Souls at Zero:
1. self titled
2.six-t-six
3.a taste for the preverse

highly recommended for anyone who reads this (and those who don't)

I just received a stack of cool Galactic Cowbows cdr rarities that include demos, live shows, and interviews. I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

Also received a cool Iron Maiden show from 2003 and a copy of Green Carnations latest release (I'll be buying a real copy soon).

DVD: SLAYER - WAR AT THE WARFIELD

i watched the first few songs - i'll enjoy the earlier songs more than the ones from God Hates Us All, but so far it's pretty cool and brings back some old memories

YES: Close to the Edge (new remastered with bonus tracks)

YES: Relayer (new remastered with bonus tracks)

I've had both of these (japanese edition and original domestic) but the extra tracks, great prce, new packaging, better sound, made it worth buying yet again. I'll get a few more of them and look forward to getting the DRAMA remaster when it comes out next year.

Hey Schro, what are exactly those extra tracks? Close to the Edge used to be one of my favorite albums of all time. I bought a bass a while ago just to learn to play this album!

CTTE extra tracks =
America -single version
Total Mass Retain - single version
And Yopu And I - alternate version (very interesting)
Siberia - studio run through of Siberian Khatru

RELAYER extra tracks =
Soon - single version
Sound Chaser - single version
The Gates Of Delirium - studio run through (very interesting)

The single version aren't anything spectacular, there just the editted versions of the songs that were recorded for the 7" 45s when they were released; but, the run-through, and alternative versions are cool because they sound very different from the versions that ended up on the cds. Worth the purchase for these and the outstanding sound quality.

DVD:

Death - Live in L.A.
Kreator - Live Kreation, Revisioned Glory

CD:

Ephel Duath - The Painter's Palette
At the Gates - With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness
At the Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours

That Ephel Duath album is great. Very proggy and weird, it's brilliant.

The At the Gates albums were the remastered digipacks. Sound's still a bit ropey, but they're good records. Interesting Violin parts, and good songs overall.

The DVDs were both excellent as well. Great performances, great setlists... what more can you ask for? Also, the Kreator one has some amusing cameos from Gene Hoglan and Snake, amongst others. Brilliant.

I am, suffice to say, a happy man.

I got me some sweet goodies the other day. I was looking for the new Nevermore album Enemies Of Reality, but I couldn't find it anywhere in town. One store did order it - one fucking copy! It was gone the first day. More are arriving next week. I wanted to get something so I went to my favorite local used shop where I stumbled upon these fine gems:

Nevermore - Dead Heart In A Dead World

had it on CDR but of course I want the real deal. Amazing record. I seriously need to get me some of their older stuff. I heard Politics Of Ecstasy and it rocks.

Then the absolute topper that made my day

Voivod - Angel Rat Holy shit! Voivod CDs RARELY show up used around here and I only had AR on cassette and CDR. The Mechanic tape has served me well though - I bought it like 2 weeks after it came out and it still plays fine. Very happy now!!!!!

Damn it, I bought the Remastered version of Relayer to give my 1976 vinyl a rest and now I have to buy it again!

Might just buy the 'Symphonic Yes' DVD to see them attempting Gates live.

Count Mick Green in that!

Actually that show was the entire tour, with the main line-up for the album. It's the entire show, the way it was broadcasted live via-intenet. Probably his most remarkable show ever.

Paul: "So, what do you guys wanna hear now?"

Some smartass: "Satisfaction!!!"

Paul: "Oh, so we have a smartass here tonight."

...

"Okay, read my lips: *FUCK OFF!!!*".

BTW, I bought a Celtic Frost tribute album, with the likes of Marduk, Dimmu Borgir, Necrophagia, Astarte. Also, "The Steve Howe Album", dated from 1979. Nice experimental album, lots of baroque influence.

Gates of Delirium is the craziest song that Yes ever did. I think it has a very voivodish feel. Very dissonant and weird. Could be an intersting cover to do for Voivod (he he, imagine that! The Vod doing a cover of a 23 minutes song!)

What's even funnier is that Paul reveals in the documentary segment of the dvd that the heckler was one of his relatives...That's hilarious!!!

YES's RELAYER album always made me think of YES trying to be more like King Crimson...close but no cigar, but still probably my favorite YES album along with DRAMA...yes, I said DRAMA...fuckin rockin' brilliant record, and no fairy vocals from JA...Trevor Horn kicked ass on his one and only appearances as the YES Voice.

Gillan and Morse fuckin kill...way better combo that Blackmore / Gillan (even though it's the classic DP duo it got stale the last few albums they attempted together. They cetainly didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things.
