Haven't listened the second one in ages but will definitely order their debut somewhere. Meanwhile the new one keeps growing on me, check it, it's different from their last one and much better.

I have been listening to the new Dream Theater cd. I do not like their singer. I did like train of thoughts though.

Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine

Devin Townsend - Terria

Satyricon - Volcano

Eidolon - Nightmare World

I'm really disappointed in the Eidolon. The sampler tracks I have are cool, but this album is pretty bland. I should have known it was gonna blow when I found out the drummer wrote the enitre thing except for one acoustic instrumental. The riffing is pretty good - Glen Drover is a wicked player, but why doesn't he write more? The big problem - The singer ruins it. He can sing, but like 2 or 3 notes and that's it. Some more melody in the vocal lines would make this a 7/10, but because of the crappy singing I'm giving it a 4.

Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet dts dvd

the Megadeth box set is a great collection and worth it just for the live dvd and the live cd, not to mention a bunch of other live trax, unreleased and hard to find songs.

just ordered some cool stuff from Century Media www.cmdistro.com because they are offering a free T shirt with the purchase of the new cd so I went shopping and their prices are great. I'll let ya know the rest of the goodies when they arrive.

I've actually held back a lot in the last few months and have been choosey when it comes to buying music. I've alos given up trying to collect EVERYTHING that is Porcupine Tree, and just sticking to the regular issues and limited items and not going after the promo stuff. I did put some of the auction money into savings for the future. I've also returned cds I wasn't happy with and knew I wouldn't listen to the much. My local store has a club that allows me to buy it, try it, and retrn it if I'm not happy... no questions asked.

There have been some good releases coming out lately.

WOO HOO, just returned from lunch and my box of goodies from CENTURY MEDIA was at the front door:

CLUTCH - Slow Hole To China (vinyl, and cranking it now... got my Clutch groove thang going)

CLUTCH - Live At The Googolplex

EXODUS - The Arocity Exhibition Exhibit A (also received a kick ass camo T-shirt for the album with this puchase)

ONSLAUGHT - Killing Peace (finally found a place that had this in stock and a great price)

ONSLAUGHT - Live Polish Assault 2007 (dvd)

HEAVY PETTIN - Pettology (3cds 1 dvd) (anyone remember this band from the early 80's? They released 2 albums that can best be described as Def Leppish before going radio commercial and having sugar poured on them. This limited set contains both albums they released a live cd and live dvd of the same show. incredibly priced at under $23.00)

CM also tossed in 5 sampler/single promocds... I'll be shopping there again for sure!!! Time to sell more rare Porcupine Tree items on Ebay

Got a shitload of Italo Disco compilations about a month ago, with songs ranging mostly from 1982-1983 era. I've been hunting down complete Lps & 45s of those artists since.

OBSIDIAN - Emerging

Import I ordered directly from their site. With shipping the total came to just over $26. Wow....They had one of those playerstations where you could buy each individual song. Totally lame imo one because mp3 quality is not worth it to my ears and two its kind of meaningless without the actual album in my hands. I understand why bands do it but......

Long time no see people!

Didn't buy that many stuff lately:

SATYRICON - Volcano
SAVATAGE - Sirens (Silver Edition)
KRAFTWERK - Trans Europe Express
ENSLAVED - Isa
NILE - Ithyphallic

...and that's it, I think.

Good to see you man. What do you think of ISA? I think its one of the most important metal albums to be released in the last ten years. The songs are so well crafted, . For some frigging reason I totally missed their last tour. It actually came within a 100 miles of my city...which is a miracle really.
