My wife bought me the Judas Priest box set, with Sin After Sin through to Unleashed In The Studio inside. Also, room to put all my other reissues in so they spell the band name and have a flaming cross.

That, plus a Seymour Duncan Hotrails for my strat and a load of driving lessons (about time really) and I'm one happy mutherfucker!!!!

It's coming from France, so it'll take a litle while!!!

I agree with you there Schroedman, that title song off that EP is one of the coolest tunes I've heard in a really long time. Don't you love that chorus? Mucho coolio. Thanks for the KC Mr. Mustard.

I got the Grimskunk 'Seventh Wave' CD for xmas, there's some good heavy songs there (intermixed with some rock/pop and a couple reggae influenced tunes that I will skip over in the future, heh heh). http://www.grimskunk.com

NV, your Mudhoney acquistion reminded me about Matt Lukin staying at my place a couple of times, what an insane drunk he was! LOL!

Just received the advance cd of the new King Crimson "The Power To Believe" and LOVE IT of course. There are a lot of songs they had done on tour and on the Level 5 ep that have been reworked with more parts, powers, production. The songs that were on "happy With What You Have To Be Happy With" ep are a bit different also.
song list:
the poere to believe 1 - a cappella
level 5
eyes wide open
facts of life -intro
facts of life
the power to believe 2
dangerous curves
happy with what you...
the power to believe 3
the power to believe 4: coda

Great diversity from very atmospheric to very brutal, from quirky to beautiful lyrics. I would have like to have heard more newer songs, but overall I'm very "happy with what I have to be happy with"

KC never dissapoints me. Anyone who likes the direction they have been headed with this lineup will enjoy this cd.

Also picked up SUPERSHINE with Bruce Franklin & Doug Pinnick...stoner rock meets groove...pretty cool on the first listen.

Mastodon - Remission

I've read bout 'em (especially on dis site) so I became curious.
Yesterday I walked into the record store and dis album was looking at me with this typical 'BUY ME' kind of stare. I decided to have a listen. I was blown away. GODDAMN, this is awful stuff. Bought it right away. COOL!

Also:
Masters Of Reality (first album) - damn!!! I just like that bluesy stuff, I guess
Pentagram - Relentless, already had that on cd, now on vinyl too!
Death Row - Death is Alive 81-85. Compilation of live and rehearsel stuff. Bad sound quality. Later on they changed their name to...Pentagram.

I just picked up two good ones:
Year Of The Rabbit- Hunted EP
On- Make Believe

Both bands have the same singer song writer Ken Andrews formerly of Failure. The guy is a master of sound recording, producing, and musicianship.

I have so many new CD's I have lost track.

Standouts:

1. Nightmare Lodge - Blind Miniatures
-these guys (mosly Ivan Iusco) are the premier Dark Ambient innovators.
The soundtrack for the horror film that is your life.

2. Death - Live In L.A.
-a raging and RAW epitaph to the Mighty Chuck.

3. Frank Zappa - The Man From Utopia
-One of FZ's best. Who hasn't lived the horrid nightmare of "The Dangerous Kitchen"?

"...Sometimes
The milk can hurt you
(If you put it on your cereal
Before you smell the plastic container)
And the stuff in the strainer
Has a mind of its own
So be very careful
In the dangerous kitchen
When the night time has fallen
And the roaches are crawlin'
In the kitchen of danger
You can feel like a stranger...

The bananas are black
They got flies in the back
And also the chicken
In the dish with the foil
Where the cream is all clabbered
And the salad is frightful
Your return in the evening
Can be less than delightful...

Who the fuck wants to clean it? ..."

Fucking hilarious, I tell ya.

4. Wall of Voodoo - Index Masters
-I finally found it!
An all-time classic of manufactured beats, homemade percussion,
oddly-spun tales and strange atmospheric immersion.

5. Contaminated 3.0 (from Relapse)
-I just love crusty comps with 51 tracks.
This saves me loads of cash on shit bands that people
go around name-dropping in order to sound cool.
There is plenty of appropriate mayhem, though...

Contains such luminaries as:

Nile
Cephalic Carnage
Anal Cunt
Brutal Truth
Suffocation
Exit 13
D.E.P.
etc.

...which reminds me; it's time to go test the integrity of the sheetrock with my forehead... see ya

Just got 5ive's first album (fucking heavy stoner doom with prog. Genius - check these boys out)
Also picked up Mastadon's Lifesblood ep. Haven't listened to it yet, but I was well impressed with Remission, so I expect it to be killer.

Just one, but it's already one of the most bizarre acquisitions of mine in a long, long time: Pat Boone's No more Mr. Nice Guy. Yes, that Pat Boone. Songs? You've got another thing comin', Crazy train, Holy diver (w/RJD on backing vocals), among others...

Yes. Here's the complete track list. Don't really think anyone would not recognize any of the songs:

1. You've got another thing comin'
2. Smoke on the water
3. It's a long way to the top (if you wanna rock'n'roll)
4. Panama
5. No more Mr. Nice Guy
6. Love hurts
7. Enter Sandman
8. Holy diver
9. Paradise city
10. The wind cries Mary]
11. Crazy train
12. Stairway to heaven

The songs are all done swing-style (i.e., Pat Boone fashion). Guest-list includes Ronnie Dio, Ritchie Blackmore, Gregg Bissonette (drums on all tracks), Dweezil Zappa. Impressions? Never thought I'd say "Enter Sandman" is a great song!

Last year Porcupine Tree used the PAT BOONE cd for pre concert music, it took me a couple songs to figure out who it was, and then I was laughing thru them all. It's good to listen to once or twice but then it becomes annoying...but still pretty damn funny.

You're gonna love the live show that PT put's on, H ... they're playing a lot of their heavier songs and the set list is an incredible mix that goes everywhere.

One of the best shows I've ever seen...start a pit, and get some people moving!!!
