Continuing my Opeth collecting, I picked up Orchid yesterday. They're playing here on the 24th, and I thought it might be nice for once to be somewhat familiar with a band's work BEFORE I see them live.Incidentally, anybody here heard Devildriver or Moonspell? They're opening. I'm trying to decide whether I should bother hunting down anything of theirs before the show. -------------------- ummm.....I got nothin' today :-(

I had plan to get it but I read some reviews who said the sound and image quality sucks. I know It's very old footage but is it that bad! -------------------- >>> C'est fini l'école...à souère c'est Voïvod! <<< -Snake, december 1984

Hey Schroed, what'dya think of the Anekdoten "From Within" CD. I totally dig that band, although I think that "Nucleus" is still my favorite by them. And I don't have their newest one yet. Do you?Just bought Buried in Your Black Heart - Burden Brothers This the latest project from the singer/songwriter of the former Toadies. I know their not everyone's cup of tea, but good hard rock if you ask me.

I have to be in the right mood for ANEKDOTEN, but when I am I dig it. I have the new one order and it should be at work when I arrive today (along with a much need memory chip for my computer). From the samples I've heard of the new one it sounds much more accessable (for lack of a better word). More hooks than previous releases.Anyway, I've been on a total Faith No MOre collectables kick recently and buying stuff up right and left on Ebay and just waiting for everything to get to my mailbox. Yesterday I received: FAITH NO MORE - Album Of The Year ltd ed with 2nd cd of remixes (6 songs...very cool) PAW - Jessie 4 track promo (love this band) -------------------- yawn

Amen to that. Eddie is in top form, and they were willing to try the cool experimental shit rather than churning out the big top 40 hits. Sunday Afternoon in the Park/ One Foot Out the Door is the best shit they ever did, IMO. quote: Originally posted by AngelRat: Also: On cd: Thinking Plague - Early Plague Years (for only 7 euro)
Cool! This is the only TP I haven't heard yet. Let me know what you think of it. My latest grab is the Zappa Baby Snakes DVD (killer) and I finally broke down and bought BOC's Cultosaurus Erectus (remastered) on CD, after owning the same slab of vinyl since it came out in 1980. I also have a ton more on the way, including Zappa's Civilization Phaze III, which I am very excited about finally hearing all the way through. Most people say it is his crowning achievment. -------------------- "You have the option to drill additional holes in the label, causing the record to rotate off the side of the turntable" -Tom Ellard - Severed Heads

This sounds cool, but should I wait for the box set coming out in March or get this one now? I have all of these on individual CDs but they sound terrible. I've been waiting a long time for remasters. As far as new stuff for me. Ice-T - Original Gangster Ice Cube - Amerikka's Most Wanted Ice Cube - Death Certificate Ice Cube - Bootlegs and B-sides These four combined with a few things I already have complete my collection of rap that I like.

It's actually a compilation of their first two albums ('A Thinking Plague' and 'Moonsongs') on one cd. I haven't heard their later works yet, so I can't compare them to this one. Anyway, this particular record is already growing on me like some sort of tumor. Despite some less interesting songs and a few that go on for too long, most of this is killer material. Original, complex and downright weird. Outstanding musicianship, great production and so on. I think I love it. quote: Originally posted by Tangento: I also have a ton more on the way, including Zappa's Civilization Phaze III, which I am very excited about finally hearing all the way through. I would say his complete body of work is a crowning achievement in itself, but this one sure one of it's highlights. A must-have for every Zappa fanatic. And today I bought: Moonspell - The Antidote (just a very cool album) -------------------- "Appearing like Ra"
