Worth an seperate trip, for sure Lee! With Target Earth not hitting until 2013, RIITIIR will likley land my #1 spot for 2012. A consistently great band, without a doubt. Sounds like you got a great deal for those 2 discs. A used copy of Master Of Puppets is usually about $9 by itself. Amazing how good Metallica were back then... what happened?! Haha! Despite my best interests, I bought these used CD's today... - Steve Hillage: L [remaster] - Love And Rockets: Express [remaster - to replace the one that my wife lost many years ago!] - Melvins: Gluey Porch Treatments [remaster with bonus demo tracks] My 1986 was dominated by this Melvins record, along with same year releases by Celtic Frost, Kreator, Slayer, and of course Voivod! GPT was the weirdest, and argueably the HEAVIEST album of that year. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

You know, I don't think I've ever checked out those Peter Gabriel albums. In reading up on them a bit, I am kind of shocked that haven't... totally on my list to check out!In the mail... - VOIVOD: Mechanical Mind [7-inch, black vinyl] From a local shop... - Harold Budd/Brian Eno: Ambient 2: The Plateaux Of Mirror - Fripp & Eno: No Pussyfooting [2-disc edition] - Judas Priest: Nostradamus - Moses: Changes [some cool old heavy rock from Denmark, circa 1971] - The Sword: Apocryphon [deluxe edition] The Voivod 7-inch just fucking rules all, of course. I somehow forgot that I nabbed one of the limited copies signed by the band! Decided to check out the Sword's new album after hearding some nice samples... you know what the clerk gave me with the CD? ... A cassette tape release of the album, free with purchase! Haha! Now... what to do with it? -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Been a while since I last bought some stuff...EXODUS - Bonded By Blood, which to my own surprise I never had on CD! LED ZEPPELIN - I, II & III MILES DAVIS - Doo-Bop (I am curious to know what's your opinion on that album Mez. Even knowing that he did a "rap" album still I was surprised when I finally heard it) MOTÖRHEAD - Bastards, The World is Yours NAPALM DEATH - Utilitarian, great!!! RAMMSTEIN - Liebe It Für Alle Da RATOS DE PORÃO - Brasil, Anarkophobia, both nice re-releases on digipack SEPULTURA - Bestial Devastation/Morbid Visions, Schizophrenia, digipack remasters ZZ TOP - La Futura, which is on my top 3 of the year. Plus, I bought "Overkill: The Untold Story of MOTÖRHEAD", by Joel McIver, which is a great read. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Was never able to really appreciate any part of it, be it songwriting, performance, riffs, vocals, you name it. Perhaps I should've listened to it back in 1985 when not much else was available, but unfortunately by the time when I first heard it I was already spoiled. Metal has seen an explosive growth in the level of musicianship between 1985 and 1990, if you know what I mean
These two posts sum up what I think of BbB these days. I had it on vinyl but had the hardest of times trying to "get it", in my case mainly because of Paul's vocals/grunts/screeches, which for me never fitted the music. It took me a very long time to finally see the quality of the album in a whole and to realize its relevance for the thrash metal scene. As for a deluxe edition, I don't think there's any unreleased material left. Maybe release it with the Let There Be Blood CD as bonus? That would be nice and that's what they should have done in the first place, IMHO. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it."
