I so totally agree with that. I'd always rather have a hard copy of a recording that a download. I do understand the cost efficiancy on downloads, especially when a band wants to make a lot of recordings of live shows or rare material available to their fans. Things that wouldn't be cost effective to have cds and artwork created becuase they aren't going to sell thousands and thousands of copies. At least give an option of FLAC files for those who want a quality recording. If you're going to release a real recording of new material, than at least have the pride to go the full nine yard (whatever the fuck that really means) and do a full blown cd and packaging.

I actually had the album on mp3 since shortly after its original release, but for some strange reason I never listened to it as much as it deserved (maybe it has something to do with me, being the old-fashioned guy that I am, preferring to have the original CD). But now it seems to be struck on my CD player!

I tend to agree with you, ISA is a really great record that grabs the listener's attention from start to the majestic finish with "Neogenesis". A really important album indeed.

Self-titled debut CD of THE HOUNDS OF HASSELVANDER. Very highly recommended. All the instruments and vocals by mighty Joe Hasselvander, mastermind/multi-instrumentalist of PENTAGRAM / DEATH ROW (and drummer of RAVEN for the last 18 or so years). This guy is indeed the Godfather of doom. If you like Pentagram, Black Sabbath, or any of the zillions of bands that rip them off, this is a must-own. Look it up at MySpace for samples. This is crushing...

All the best,
PAULIE

I downloaded the rest of the Live Metallica shows they offer up at www.livemetallica.com and purchased the second night of the new Bridge School Concert. I chose the 28th show because they covered the BOC tune 'Verteran Of The Psychic Wars' and because I've always thought Metallica did a cool job on cover songs, and always enjoyed the Garage Days recordings. However, acoustically they just can't pull it off. James voice is awefull, and although they do a couple interesting alternative versions of their own songs, I was pretty dissapointed with this show.

oh well

If you can't rub it in everyone's face that you got something before everyone else, what's the point in having it early? I'm going to have to look into this album, once it become available to us mere mortals

I finally bought KISS - KISSOLOGY Vol.1 when i was in the states. El Cheapo...
I think it was $24,- In Holland you easily pay over $40,- It is great, although i had seen the greater part already on Youtube and ofcouorse on VHS (crappy though).

I think that i will never buy Vol2 and vol3 because the years covered after 1981 (The Elder) i am not interested in. After Animalize i lost ALL intersest in KISS.

Schroeder, i read in your post that Vol3. contains 5 DVD's. I have only 2. Is this a lesser version?? Are there Vol1's with more DVD's? And what about these easteregg's, are they hidden in Vol1 somewhere?

Paul, my KISSOLOGY VOLUME 1 had a bonus 3rd disc that ia from Madison Square Garden Concert. Volume 2 & 3 also contained bonus dvds if you purchased them from certain retailers. Walmart stores had different bonus dvds than other stores, which is a brilliant marketing campaign, because there were about 4 stores (I believe) that carried special editions of the box sets and each store had a different live dvd as it's bonus. So, any hardcore fan wanting all the different live dvds would have to purchase 4 copies, from 4 different stores. Luckily I'm no where close to being a hardcore KISS fan but it does bring back memories of elementary school and Jr high school, when I was first into the band. I only paid $25 at Walmart for Volume 3 which has 5 dvds in it... can't beat that bargain. I've enjoyed watching all 3 volumes, but Volume 1 is the Classic, that's crammed with all kinds of good stuff. Volume 2 has that god aweful song Shandi too many times and I just started watching pieces of Volume 3.

Recieved today:
ANTIMATTER - Leaving Eden (excellent album)

Got some gifts from myself for Xmas:

CANNIBAL CORPSE - Bloodthirst

I waited for ages for this one to be released here. It never was (dunno why), so I grabbed the import. Unleashing the Bloodthirsty alone is worth the money.

VADER - And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw (DVD)

Vader is a great DM band, one of my personal favourites, great to see a well recorded/filmed concert of theirs. Must have for any Death Metal fan!

AC/DC. The album in question is "Ballbreaker", the author is Mark Prindle. I don't agree with that review, but I loved the line anyway, super funny, plus it can be applied to a whole lotta bands!
