He's definitely one of my guitar heroes. Love every note that guys plays. By the way, have you guys heard the album he put out last year called "Known Unknown"? It's more in the jazz rock vein, but it's incredibly great.
Also, I read recently that Living Colour will be getting together to write their next album soon.

Ahhh, 'This Little World', yes, you LC fans must hear this. I was astonished at how good it was. More traditional style LC stuff....but the songs are fantastic..especially track one. Ten times better than Collidescope!! Is that Corey singing? I love a bunch of stuff on 'Mistaken' except for the rapping. That new one sounds very interesting. Gonna look it up. I would love to hear him work with Robert Fripp.

BTW, Mustard, how you doing??? Long time no hear.

Now, THAT'S a great bunch of cd's, Mez!

For me:

Vangelis - China (on vinyl)
Vanilla Fudge - Renaissance (also on vinyl!)

Hammers Of Misfortune - The August Engine (Hellagood!)
Dreamaker - Enclosed (free promo cd I got at their concert here in my town, melodic power metal stuff, their thrashy approach and the very powerful production makes this all very worthwhile, not to mention the great vocals)

Fantômas - Amenaza al Mundo [from the show, to replace my lost copy]

Ramesses - We Will Lead You To Glorious Times - EP - holy shit, now that's heavy! ex-Electric Wizard members, they remind me of the mighty Warhorse, with High On Fire elements.
(still wondering why that cd was in the HC section, along with sxe and emo-skate crap...)

Pentagram - Day Of Reckoning [re-issue by Peaceville, nice digipack]

in the used bin:
Unseen Terror - Human Error
Messiah - Psychomorphia

CLUTCH - robot hive/exodus

I'm surprised no one else here has picked this up yet. CLUTCH is certainly not afraid to try ANYTHING when it comes to their music. They can mix anything in and still come out sounding like it's Clutch. Cool cd after the first spin, and the packaging is beautiful.

I may have mentioned these guys sometime before, but here's a reminder of what a great band this is. They are from SF and have just recently got back together, this is their new record. It rocks!

They like to sing about Satan, drugs and alcohol. And did I mention that they are all HUGE Voivod fans ?

Let me know if you'd like to hear them

I just found this if anyone is interested in hearing a song from this.....listen and buy it, dammit!!

My friend's band "Mos Generator" are playing with them down in Portland this weekend!

We both saw Clutch back in '94 with Fear Factory...at the time, really didn't care too much for them.

Porcupine Tree - Signify (2CD)
Porcupine Tree - Coma Divine Live (2CD)

As today's my sixteenth birthday, I took a little trip to CD Warehouse and found these two gems. As I popped "Signify" into the cd player, (I heard the two first tracks, instrumentals, then-) the first words I heard were "At the age of sixteen". How cool is that?

I'll agree with that, schroeder. That's all I've been able to listen to lately, is PT. Only one other band sucked me in and ruined me for Y E A R S...and that was American Music Club.

Happy Heimdall Day!

CARDIACS - Archive

Thank you, eBay!

Oh, and you're absolutely right about the black hole thing. Curiously enough, I've been experiencing the same phenomenon as Luna in the past couple of weeks, all I can listen to is PT and more PT. Fortunately I have six of 'em now (Signify, Coma Divine, Recordings, Warszawa, In Absentia, Deadwing) and they're in constant rotation along with two Mr.Bungle cds, a Cardiacs (since this morning), Faust and Phobos.

I bought one of their CD's on eBay last year, it's an EP/live split, and I like it. Didn't know they were Vod fans, even better!

Stupid Dream
Lightbulb Sun
Up The Downstair
The Sky Moves Sideways
Voyage 34

go to www.burningshed.com for some of these that were recently reissued and remastered. Stupid Dream & Lightbulb Sun are currently out of print but you should still be able to find them.

Steve Vai - Real Illusions: Reflections

I'm entirely pleased considering I popped this in half expected to be bored by the same mind blowing solos that become too monotonous. But damn! This album brings it all. Even the songs with his vocals are quite interesting and pleasing. It seems fresh, but that could be because I took such a long break from buying his material.
Don't get me wrong, it still has a lot of the "same" feel as most of his stuff, but for some reason, this one seems a lot better and meaningful. Good stuff.

that was my same reaction when I purchased and played Vai's new cd. It's funny how artists that are so original and unique can become monotonous to themselves after a few years. This was does seem fressher than the last few releases but my all time fav Vai cd is still ALIEN LOVE SECRET... just fuckin blows my mind and makes me smaile when ever I spin that fucker.
