RUSH - Beyond The Lighted StageThe format is the formulaic (and expertly done) band interview + celebrity fans interview + rare images. Which always works, btw, especially when band in question is Rush. Wonderful stuff, obviously a must have! -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." My first spin of Final Frontier had me thinking they should have called it "Recycled" but the second and third spin had me thinking "this is actually a damn final album". I love "A Matter Of Life & Death" there's a lot of killer tunes and epic tunes on theres. I also found new respect from "Dance Of Death" after seeing some of the tracks performed live on the live DVD. I also think SCREAM is one of OZZY's best in a long time. -------------------- yawn

Still didn't buy it, but after repeated listens, I still didn't "get" Ozzy's new one. I think it's on par with Black Rain and the previous one, which at least for me is not good.As for Final Frontier, it's definetely a grower, as Schroeder pointed. But from first listen I think Satellite 13... The Final Frontier is pure genius, it's been a long time since I was last impressed with a Maiden song the way I am with the opener of the new album. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." i didnt buy final frontier yet, but another guy at work has been playing it alot. i gotta say either i just havent listened to it enough in private at home, or it actually is how i think it is... i just dont find anything that impressive or stand-out-ish about it. i liked a matter of life and death much more than this one.lately i've been listening to ALOT of ulver - and luna, perdition city is also the one i cant get enough of! lastnight i added: ulver - blood inside future sound of london - dead cities deathspell omega - si monvmentvm... to the collection. i've been in way more of a chill out/ ambient mood.

Picked up the new Maiden and while it's not hitting me like a ton of bricks, it's slowing growing on me... pretty much like their others since rejoining with Smith & Dickinson. I do like it. Like Schroeder, I bought the 'mission edition' and was not so impressed with that aspect of the puchase. Just a simple metal clamshell case with a sticker on the back and no extra goodies inside. The online bonus content was sparse and weak... even the bonus video stuff was streaming only, so you can't download and keep. Blah. Some other recent finds, all compact disc. - Amon Duul II: Vive La Trance [remaster] - Can: Monster Movie [remaster] - Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Parasao UFO: La Novia - Destruction: Live Without Sense [Steamhammer Records version] - Destruction: Inventor Of Evil - Destruction: D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N. I don't know what you all think, but I gotta say, Destruction still brings the thrash riffage in a mean way... Hadn't really listened to DEVOLUTION before, but it's hitting pretty heavy. -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop
