TUESDAY = RECORD & TAPE TRADER DAY (local cool store)

Rush - Moving Pictures remastered (couldn't pass up getting this to replace my original cd since it was only $5)

Living Color - Collidescope (all the talk on the thread on this site made be want this since I respect the words of those who have posted good reveiws about this cd, and it was used for $8)

Paatos - Timeloss (i had a cdr of this last year and passed it to another friend, and I just received a live TV show so I had to buy an original cd. imagine early King Crimson and YES with female vocals, very floaty and surreal)

Anthrax - Music Of Mass Destruction CD & DVD set ( just watched the dvd and it was great. great live show, John Bush makes the old tunes so much heavier. great documentary footage with 'god-of-comic-art' Alex Ross, nice variety in the set list, lighting could have been better, and I don't know why they didn't use dolby digital surround, instead of regular dolby surround... either was great deal)

Queens Of The Stone Age - Stone Age Complications (cool little ep of rarites & b-sides)

PAW - Dragline (ebay auction of japanese version with obi strip, just to add to my collection of PAW stuff... thse guys fuckin rawked)

Overkill - Then & Now (columbia house finally sent me the correct cd!!!)

also received my autographed Joe Satriani cd cover of his great new cd "Is There Love In Space?"

downloaded a Tenacious D show today. ever since I watched School Of Rock the other week, it made me want to check Jack Black's band out, and shit, the downloads are free!!! CLICK HERE to go to the site where you can download tons of concerts. The majority of them don't appeal to me but there are a few good bands on there.

later

Todays mail icluded:
BIG SHRIMP - BIG SHRIMP Dennis Pepa and Andy Galeon of Death Angel released this in 1998. I won this off an Ebay auction. Never thought I'd see it (or hear it). It's nothing like DA, it's very punk, but a great addition to the collection.

PAW - Death To Traitors 5 track rare sampler

Machine Head - Through the Ashes of Empires I can't believe all the hype around this record. The only thing worse than this was Supercharger. I had only heard Imperium and bought it because of that. Unfortunately it's the only good song on there.

Melvins - Ozma, Houdini

Anthrax - Music of Mass Destruction

I just heard a track from the new Velvet Revolver album and have to say its pretty rocking. Some of the same ol'GNR energy from long ago. Think I'll have to pick that one up when it comes out.

OLD - Formula
(I heard it in a record shop a long time ago and wasn't too impressed, didn't buy it; just corrected that mistake, but I have mixed feelings about this album - some very good stuff at the end though)

gotta have a look for Big Shrimp, but I guess it's OOP?

PINK FLOYD - Dark Side Of The Moon (SACD Hybird, the surround sound on this is incredible)

EXODUS - Good Friendly Violent Fun (it's stupid the way they faded out all the songs... doesn't give you the feel of a real live show)

Yes, it's really well done. My main complaint with the original CDs was the volume, but the remasters have fixed all that, which is all I wanted out of this. I haven't read everything in the hardbound book yet but it does include photos and all of the lyrics.
The DVD could have been better. It's only four songs and two of them, Paranoid and Iron Man, are from that psychadelic German? tv show that we have seen before. The other two are kinda cheesy with the first album's cover as a filter on the camera and the band playing in the backgound.
Like I said I was only interested in the music so everything else is just gravy.

Here's a Geezer pic from the DVD
