CORROSION OF CONFORMITY - CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (double 12" colored vinyl edition European version)

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY - CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (single 12" vinyl with 7" edition USA version)

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY - CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (digipack cd edition with 2 bonus tracks)

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY - CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (regular jewel case edition) *I didn't order this one but they sent it to me anyway

listening to the digipack cd now... pretty fuckin heavy and cool. Sounds nothing like the early hardcore stuff and sounds nothing like the Pepper groove stoner rock or Blind... just sounds HEAVY and COOL!!!!Me likes it, and I find myself thrashing and banging in my computer chair.

-Sentence of Death/Infernal Overkill
-Eternal Devastation/Mad Butcher
-Release from Agony

AND the "All Hell breaks Loose/The antichrist" double CD with their 'Bestial Invasion of Hell' demo included. Mike is a fucking SHREDDER!!!

ANXIOUSLY AWAITING MY COC BUNDLE HAUL TO ARRIVE

Some good Destruction finds there John!

Getting settled in after today's Seattle Record show. Not too many bargains today, but some pretty great finds nonetheless. Blew through my cash in record time...

Vinyl finds...
- Corrosion Of Conformity: Six Songs With Mike Singing 1985
- The Plugz: Better Luck
- Warpig: Warpig [vinyl reissue of this 1970 heavy rock classic]

Compact Disc finds...
- Agitation Free: Last
- Agitation Free: Live '74 (At The Cliffs Of River Rhine)
- Comus: First Utterance
- Deathrow: Satan's Gift [reissue]
- Enslaved: Yggdrasill [new CD reissue of their demo from 1992, on Peaceville Records]
- Eskaton: Fiction
- Led Zeppelin: Immigrant Song/Hey Hey What Can I Do? [funny replica of the original 7-inch single on CD... pretty cool for $3]

Always had this COC release on CD, but hadn't seen it on vinyl in ages... got it thrown in at a discount while I was bargaining with the guy for that PLUGZ record, which is extremely rare and cost me a few bucks today.

Very nice Lee. Next step is to record at least 60-80 minutes of that thing running... mix it with some pigs squealing, and you will have yourself a Merzbow album. Not that I am implying you have pigs around your house, haha.

Made the deluxe CD edition of the new CORROSION OF CONFORMITY a part of my permanant archives today! Also came accross these fine used CDs in my way to the register....

- Destruction: Cracked Brain
- Dio: Holy Diver

Can't believe I never owned Holy Diver on CD before this... just my old vinyl copy, haha.

MELVINS - Stag (for a band I really didn't like for many years... primarily because the only cd I had was Ozma / Gluey Porch Treatments and I just don't like it... I sure have gotten into them lately, all because a friend sent me an MP3 of the song "Blood Witch" and that blew me away. I have found the majority of their cataloge pretty fuckin heavy, experimental, and cool)

I recently bought 3 of the 'Holy Diver' Audio Fidelity Gold CD's from Amazon for only $16.71 each, they are numbered and will become rare. I'm gonna open one, sell one and keep one sealed

a couple more Books in the mail today:
Judas Priest "Metal Gods" (this looks like one of those books you buy in elementary school. Only 84 pages of big text with pictures... there's obviously not going to be a lot of good behind the scenes info in here. Kind of cheap looking, but I didn't pay much, so... whatever)

PAUL Di'ANNO - "The Beast: Singing with iron Maiden - The drugs, The Groupies, The Whole Story" (this should be one good convoluted story from Paul's point of view. I had to get this just for curiosity sake)

VINYL: CLUTCH - Blast Tyrant (double vinyl gatefold with posters... cool)

I always find that QOTSA sound fuckin' genius when I'm super drunk and it's loud. But, every other time I hear them, I think, Eh, it's alright.

Good live band....but I don't get anything from their albums. I picked up that one cause it was their first and I thought, well I'll take a chance...they were young and hungry then right? Usually those are the best...

Warm regards,
Asstard

I meant it in a nice way, Lee-san. The first one was just Josh and the drummer from Kyuss, BTW, Josh played bass, too. They re-issued it last year in 180g vinyl. If anything, the first one is better than anything else! I was gonna ask him to sign "Charlie Von Sexron" but I balked.

Damn, I knew that John...how long we been doing this? I was actually just poking fun at my buddy Sean...(knowing how's he such a QOSA fanboy). While we're talking about mediocre stoner rock what do you think about the new COC? I liked those first two songs they released but after listening to the full album stream....uhmmmmm...

MEZ... the new COC is INCREDIBLE. Fuck streaming compressed music that never does the music justice, get the cd and and it'll add 50 pounds to your player when you put it in because it's so fuckin' heavy. I know there's some other cool people here who have purchased a real version of the new album... back me up.

Regarding QOTSA... with each album they released the more bored I got with them until I just plain gave up buying the last few. And I sure with Grohl sang in Them Crooked vultures... it would have been so much better. That album drag on endlessly because of Josh's vocals.

Good point Dave. Mp3s do suck and are not a decent
Representation of a physical album and never will be. I'll track down the real thing. I loved those first two songs they released.

I think the new COC album is amazing, but I could see that it may take some time to sink in. One of those albums that you may or may not connect with right away, but don't dismiss it too soon... keep it around and let it grow on you, because there's a lot of cool shit going on with this record.

Reed's amazing drumming alone is worth the purchase price, haha!

I like the first few QOTSA records... pretty much up through Songs For The Deaf, but after that, they became instantly boring to me as well. Not common for me to lose interest in band so quickly, now that I think about it.

The Art Of Derek Riggs (book) by Martin Popoff (since I finally purchased Away's book I felt I should also have this one, since I've always considered Derek a phenomenal artist also. I college I created a slide tape presentation (this was way before power point and other cool PC presentations were possible... yes I'm old) titled LIFE OF EDDIE which was created using photos of all the Iron Maiden art that Riggs created on albums, 7 inches, 12 inch singles...

That's awesome Dave! I need to check out that book! Love Derek Riggs' work!

Took these home today...

- German Oak: s/t album (1972) [reissue]
- Andreas Kisser: Hubris I & II

The Andreas Kisser album is pretty cool. First disc is mostly electric and the second is mostly acoustic. I've always been a bit fan of those haunting little interludes he used to contribute to Sepultura albums, and in that regard it does not disappoint. Reviews on the web haven't been very kind to this one, but it's really quite nice for what it is.
