Hexo, so far I have avoided looking into the other Amazon sites... not sure how long that will happen, especially if I get bored (which is a lot). I did find t a place to download the Kevin Moore "Music Meant To Be Heard" album. Even though I think I had everything on there, having not known about it until you spilled your knowledge to me, it's cool to at least have a downloaded version of it. It looks pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to get a real copy... although if there is one out there, I have a feeling YOU will find it.

The Museum is free is anyone from VVF that happens to be around the area of lonely, nothing much to do except listen to music and post shit on VVF forum town MILLSBORO, Delaware... all other's must pay, because they're not cool .

I hope the rest of your vacation goes well, and you have a safe drive back home. You have a great family.

Sounds like fun and hope to someday meet each of you guys as well, not to mention a chance to gaffaw at Dave's mighty collection.

After blowing my load on a pile of metal aquisitions back in July, I've been taking it easy lately. Just brought these two home today...

- Can: Unlimited Edition [remaster]
- Fripp & Eno: Beyond Even (1992-2006)

Ah man, what a day... I need a beer.

I've been in your neck of the woods! Great birding around Lewes. Next time, I'll put the Museum on the must-see list alongside the Red Knots, Sanderlings and the very Voivodian Black & White-winged Scoter

I also had the extreme pleasure of fellow VVF Hexo and his family stop by my house yesterday to hang out for a while and talk music and tour the Schroeder Music Museum. It was nice of them to take time out of their vacation to come see me, and finally put a face to one of the many great people on this forum.

Wait, how'd I miss this? That is cool as hell hex and schroeder. I'm still going to visit you at your gallery someday. If I can make it to your damn ole house that would make my day too. What were you listening to while giving a tour of your home?

I had King Crimson RED dvd 5.1 audio playing when they arrived but Hex and I got caught up chatting in my music room and I ended up sucking as a host to the rest of his fine family. I should have put in Despicable Me for his kids to watch and offered them something to drink. My apologies

I did forget to mention I also received my "Clockwork Angels" #509 of 600 Limited Edition hardback version that's housed a special box and signed by Neil Peart & Kevin Anderson.
I just ordered a regular edition from Amazon for $16 that I will actually read so I don't end up fucking up this one.
Thanks King Kula for convincing me to get the limited version. With everyone ordering them at the same time I was certain I wouldn't have a chance of scoring a copy, especially because I was using a slow piece of shit computer at work.

This is an epic album by a great band.

Seriously, I never listened to any of their earlier stuff which is considered much better by many (or most?). I stumbled upon Permanent Vacation back in late 80s by mere coincidence and thought it was kinda kinda fun. I never felt compelled to look for anything else by them, be it better or worse. I bought Pump (much much later without ever hearing it) because it was cheap and I remembered the name in the same context as PV. Cheesy, I know, but why should I care.

That is hilarious! Hex, you are full of surprises.

Picked up these used CDs today...

- Budgie: s/t album
- Can: Live Music (Live 1971-1977) [2-discs]
- The Michael Schenker Group: s/t album [remastered w/demos+extras]
- Uriah Heep: The Magician's Birthday [deluxe expanded edition]

Been listening to Michael Schenker's first 2 albums a lot lately. Somehow, I have never owned these on CD even though they were instrumental in putting me on the metalhead path all those years ago, thanks to my big brother being a UFO/Schenker nut. The riffs man... Schenker's riffs on these early releases are godly! ...Not to mention his brilliant soloing. Recommended listening all around!

Hex, If you want a great AEROSMITH album pick up ROCKS, TOYS IN THE ATTIC, or ROCK IN A HARD PLACE (the album without Joe Perry, but it's a killer). I also really enjoy their comeback DONE WITH MIRRORS. All 4 of these are all thriller no filler great albums.

Hee all and especially Dave, who told me about this band...

new KONG is out. Merchants of air is their new album. It totally rules.
If you like the first one, better go and buy the second one. The songs are more like songs that have a beginning and an end if you catch my drift. I think ift is superb.

Yes, it is!!

Are you fucking kidding me? The band is 22 years old tomorrow. Or maybe even more.

It's their seventh album, not counting compilations. I was spreading the word about this band here and elsewhere for as long as I can remember.

BNR Metal entry

For those living in a bunker, here's their bandcamp page where you can download ALL their albums, most of them for name-your-price, as well as some digital-only releases of rarities:
KONG Bandcamp

Speaking of the Dutch, the new Gathering is awesome.

I hope to learn something every single day.

Today I learned what a fool I am for not knowing this. I knew this band was out a long time but didn't know they had so many albums out....

Stupid me.

But the most importend thing is how unique this band is...

Haha, I posted s big response before I saw Hex's reply. Yes, Kong has been around for many many years. I bought Mute Poet Vocalizer back in the early 90s, just because it looked interesting (and was cheap). Glad I did.

The "Lemmy" bluray, which is awesome with all those extras, plus Miles Davis - Bitches Brew, the 2CD + DVD version. Still have to watch the DVD.

And I'm waiting for the ZZ Top box, Original Album Series, to arrive. It's Rio Grande Mud, Tres Hombres, Fandango, Deguello and Eliminator in one package which is awesome. On the other hand, looks like the Rio Grande Mud is the 80's mix, which is not awesome. Let's see...

"Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Classic Rock Presents A Tribute To Deep Purple - Re-Machined Machine Head ( special magazine and cd)

I seem to be getting a collection of these special mags. The Europeans know how to create cool magazines.

Luna: glad you got to experience KONG live... they need to release a live dvd for losers like me who don't get out.

The Buggles - The Age of Plastic (extended & remastered
The Buggles - Adventures in Modern Recording (extended & remastered) There's some early versions of tunes that would eventually end up on YES's Fly "From Here" album. Trevor Horn was working on these prior to joining YES for the Drama album and YES performed some of the songs live during the Drama tour.

Porcupine Tree - Coma Divine (limited edition 3 lp vinyl box set) Steven Wilson sure knows how to suck the $$$ out of collectors by continually reissuing back catalog in various limited edition formats

One nice thing about people not buying cd's anymore is that the stores that still carry them are putting out a lot of good stuff on the 'cheap bin'. Which is great for people like me...so while waiting at Best Buy to have my polk audio's installed I grabbed:

James Brown- 20 All Time Greatest Hits
Marvin Gaye-What's Going on
SRV-The Sky is Crying
Hall&Oates- Super Greatest Hits (Gotta have your H&O baby!)
John Coltrane-Greatest Hits(sometimes greatest hits packages can be lame...but this one looks like he used some very competent players)
The Doors-Waiting for the Sun

$5 each.........

And btw...the polks sound beautiful! What a difference.
