Really? Does it still have those little distortions and scratches that the previous CD versions had? You could clearly hear the limitations of the tape on the CD. Then again, Yes was so much ahead of its time back then; their music was too advanced for the limited recording technologies of that time!

Too bad they are old farts nowadays.

COOL
Musically they were GOD-LIKE back, in the day. I used to really enjoy Anderson's voice but after many years and after getting heavily into King Crimson, I realized Jon's vocals became a bit boring and I prefered what John Wetton was doing back then compared to Anderson...much stronger voice. I've always wondered how RELAYER would sound with a different singer, with a better range. There's no denying YES' place in music history, and I still enjoy listening to them.

oh yeah, I received PORCUPINE TREE - live August 3 2003 Showbox Seattle

My local record store had a few cool new usded cds I picked up CHEAP...couldn't resist 'em:

LAST CRACK - 'ENERGY MIND'/'MY BURNING TIME'promo cd $1.00

RUNNING WILD - 'LITTLE BIG HORN' (with 'BILLY THE KID' & 'GENOCIDE') 3song import. this is the first time I've ever bought anything by Running Wild...not bad...only $1.50. Genocide is the Thin Lizzy cover song!!!

ALAN WHITE - RAMSHACKLED Japanese import $6.00

ASAP - SILVER AND GOLD Adrian Smith's side project from years ago. I had never heard this and at $6.00 figured it was worth the risk...after listening to it, it I might have spent too much . MAIDEN should have got Adrian back in the band to sing when Dickinson left...he's WAY BETTER than Blaze.

Very cool. I love Running Wild. If you dig this one, then I'd recommend Pile OF Skulls by them. Great album.

Oh yah. Definately get "Pile of Skulls". All their albums tend to sound EXACTLY the same, though (right down to the guitar solos!) but Pile of Skulls was amazing. Their second album "Branded and Exiled" was also great... a little bit darker and heavier (and quite frankly, my favorite). "Black Hand Inn" is also worth mentionning.

Now you got me curious. Thin Lizzy my fav. band. "Running Wild" covered GENOCIDE?
Have a mp3 track of "Running Wild" and it sure sound good in my ears (The Guardian).

Can anybody give me some advice on wich album I should start with, concerning "R W"?

Cheers!

THIN LIZZY has always been one of my favorite bands also. They did an OK job of covering Genocide, but nothing compares to the original version.

If anyone's a big RUNNING WILD fan, and interested in the 3 song import cd, and wants to trade something for it let me know.

I was out "Goodwill Hunting" again this weekend and I found this lone MP3 disc without a case and with some scratches on it. The reason it caught caught my eye was because in big black Sharpie letters, it said: Heavy Metal. Of course I had to spend the $1.00 on it and when I got it home and popped in my DVD player this is what I got:

Metallica: Ride the Lightning, Garage Days, Master of Puppets, Kill 'Em All (all the metallica I actually like )

Ministry: several of their albums

Overkill: several of their albums

Obituary: Several of theirs also. And so finally, after years and years of hearing about it and seeing it, but never actually ever listening to it, I listened to "Slowly We Rot". I thought it was pretty cool, although the vocals were not really that exciting for me. It had my head banging thats for sure!

Me and my friend that's a boy (inside joke) check out 2 of the Goodwill outlet stores every weekend, he looks for Mac's and I look for vinyl. Most of the items you pay for by the pound, but the computers are $5 each and the records are 50 cents each!! I have been collected some pretty cool stuff these last few months. I was going through my "collection" yesterday and found that I ended up with 3 "Relayer" albums by Yes as well as most of their catalog!! I also finally scored my first Led Zeppelin on Saturday (In Through the Out Door)!

Nope, haven't found any Voivod LP's in these bins

King Crimson - THE POWER TO BELIEVE....I can't believe how good this album turned out. I've been wanting to buy it for some time and finally got around to it.

Fear Factory - OBSOLETE....I'm surprised I didn't know how good this one was sooner.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - CHRISTMAS EVE & OTHER STORIES....A couple of the guys from Savatage are on this so I got it because the family and I enjoy Christmas stuff here.
I figured maybe I'd like this more than some of the traditional fare my wife offers with my cup of eggnog.

Yes - KEYS TO ASCENSION 2 .... Excellent. A live disc with some classics + 44 mins. of new material.

Pitch Shifter - INDUSTRIAL .... Pretty good. It reminds me of Godflesh.
