Another metalhead (and guitarist for a band called "as we destroy") I ran into on the boardwalk at work a couple weeks ago sent me a package with THE END sampler (with Voivod) and 3 homemade comps of metal he's been listening to. Very Cool!!! He also sent a new Voivod sticker which now graces the front drivers sider bumper of my Tiburon

PRESENT TENSE: automatic happy

this is a side project of Mean Mr Mustard's (aka: Vince) and displays his awesome axework in a different genre of music. Present Tense is fronted by an awesome female vocalist who has originality and style. The music is best described (by me at least) as groove pop witha hard edge. great catchy songs but not so catchy that you'd get bored with them after a few listens... this is some cool music.

Thanks for the mention Schroed! I haven't really pumped this new release on this site since it's a bit of a departure from my work in Death & Taxe$. This is definitely a more "commercial" effort on the alternative rock side of things. Not sure if it's anyone's cup of tea here. But I guess it does have Sci-fi streak to it sometimes, wouldn't you say?
Anyway, if anyone's interested, you can here samples at www.cdbaby.com/ptense
Thanks again for the support Schroed!

Paul, click HERE and go to band/FAQ. There's a pretty good explanation.

Vince, you are certainly a very diverse guitar player and damn good at the different genres you have played in. Leveler is another cool band that showcases your jazzy side, but the interesting thing is I can still tell it's you playing wheter it's the cool pop groove pscho comercial stuff of PRESENT TENSE the experimental metal rock groove of DEATH & TAXES or the jazzy licks you lay down in Leveler... it's all good to these ears.

Two new vinyls yesterday:

Repulsion - Horrified
Terrorizer - Darker Days Ahead

Can't wait for:

Voivod - Katorz - yet to give it a full listen but I liked what I heard enough to order the vinyl.
Vader - Impressions In Blood - I've listened to the leaked version a few times (it's released on vinyl late sept) and I think it's totally stunning.

Very annoyed at:

Deicide and Iron Maiden's new ones being released on picture vinyl only - that sucks ass!

Fundamentally pissed of at:

No vinyl release for Slayer yet - WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ABOUT?!?!?!

Skinless - From Sacrifice To Survival

You did well my friend with the Skinless. I don't know about their earlier stuff but the most recent album takes extreme music to a higher level.

You won't believe what I picked up at the flea market:

VOIVOD- War & Pain remastered double album
(I nearly did a backflip when I saw this)

Bolt Thrower- IVth Crusade

Soundgarden- SuperUnknown

All in great condition for a 10 bucks!!!

Put the new Maiden on my Ipod so I could listen to it while I worked in the yard and I gotta say... IT'S FUCKIN GREAT. Classic epic Maiden songs, Bruce writes some great lyrics and sings as strong as ever. I watched the dvd last night and it gives some good insight on the tunes. If you are or were a Maiden fan, this is a must have.

New Iron Maiden cd, 'A Matter Of Life And Death', and, yeah, I still quite like this one...

And some vinyl

Voivod - Katorz (looks great, sounds great)
V.A. - Dark Passages (legendary doom compilation with songs from Cathedral, St. Vitus, Solitude Aeturnus etc.)
Foetus - Thaw
Fields Of The Nephilim - Laura (first 2 EP's on one lp, not their greatest stuff, but nice to have anyway...)

AUDIOSLAVE - revelations (after being dissapointed by the second album I was very happy upon first listening to this one... they got their groove back which is what they lost on the last one)

EOLB - Prologue T-Shirt!!!! Cool as fuck shirt to add to my rock shirt collection and to where around so i can hear "End Of Level Boss? Who are they?" Just like people do when I wear my Voivod, Porcupine Tree, Hangnail, Rise To Addiction, or King Crimson shirts... it's ashame so many people aren't as cool as us

Thanks H
