Well I had a choice between that or the self-titled album, which was signed by Bruce Dickinson...Uh no.

Well, that's kind of funky in it's own right, haha.

Glad to find these used CDs today...

- Cactus: s/t album
- King Diamond: Abigail [remaster]
- V/A: New Wave Of British Heavy Metal '79 Revisited [2-disc set on Metal Blade - Great find!]

Among lots of stuff that I bought recently, The Journey Home stands out. It's not a CD or any other music media. It's a book. And it's not even related to some rock'n'roll legend. It's a book about an American youth from Chicago hitchhiking all the way to India on a spiritual quest, in 1970. From London through Western Europe, Greece, Turkey, (pre-revolutionary) Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Changing a lifestyle from a hippie sleeping in youth hostels to a sadhu spending nights in caves and forests.
Amazing.

Just got from the RDPeido facebook shop:

RATOS DE PORÃO - Crucificados pelo Sistema (digipack CD);
RATOS DE PORÃO/LOOKING FOR AN ANSWER - Split CD;
RATOS DE PORÃO - No Money No English.

"Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Looks like I missed posting I also got :
Led Zep - Celebration Day (cd/blu ray/dvd) I've only had a chance to listen to the cds an they are AMAZING. Plant sounds damn good, and the band are smokin'. Can't wait to find time to watch the blu ray and the the rehearsals that are on the dvd. It would be cool if they worked on a new album of new material. I've enjoyed John Paul Jones' solo releases and he was incredible when he opened for King Crimson many years ago.

I will be picking up that Zeppelin soon, for sure!

Found these CDs in a used book store today.

- Hawkwind: Electric TeePee
- Jethro Tull: Stand Up [remaster]
- Iron Maiden: Wasted Years/Stranger In A Strange Land (The First 10 Years version from 1990)

Also picked up the 2-disc version of Piece Of Mind for a friend and some cool old war comics from the 70s, haha.

I don't think any new Led Zep material could ever live up to the expectations which will be quite high for sure. 'Celebration Day', however does, even though Mr. Page has seen better days. What I like most about the dvd is the amount of fun they have playing the material again. Jason Bonham, in particular, is having a blast.

Hadn't had much $$$ to spend on tunes lately, but I spoiled myself this weekend with:

Motorhead - The World is Ours Vol 2 (CD/DVD/Bluray - Live at Wacken fucking RULES)

Enslaved - RITTIR (another flawless album, they never disappoint!)

Agalloch - Marrow of the Spirit (again, a band that has never let me down)

Some great tunes there NucV! Loving the new Enslaved!

Kind of a random batch today from one of the local shops. All used stuff...

- Forced Entry: As Above, So Below
- Hawkwind: The Church Of Hawkwind
- Tangerine Dream: Stratosfear
- Tangerine Dream: Electronic Meditation
- V/A: Masters Of Misery (Black Sabbath: THe Earache Tribute)

Not a big fan of tribute albums, but this one's pretty unique with Cathedral, Sleep, Confessor, Godflesh, OLD, Scorn, Brutal Truth, etc.

VOIVOD - Katorz : clear vinyl (buying the different colored versions of the Mechanical Mind 7" might have set me into an obsessive compulsive desire to collect the rest of the Voivod catalog on vinyl ... many that I once owned but sold many years ago due to the wifey being between jobs. This could get scary)

Antimatter - Lights Out: rare StrangeLight label release with extra tracks and autographed by Mick & Duncan

Antimatter - Fear of a Unique Identity: digipak version autographed by all 4 members

Averse - The Endesque Chants

Double Platinum
PeterCriss out of Control
Lick It up

I feel a little better now on some life issues...

BOOK: MOTORHEAD 'Live to Win' by Alan Burridge - this awesome looking. the kickass cover and beautiful silver edged pages alone make this book worth buying - can't wait to read it, and it got here on the day I finished Pete Townshend's WHO I AM autobiography... perfect timing.

Destruction - Spiritual Genocide [deluxe edition]

Is there no USA distribution for this album? I had to go to eBay to avoid paying high import prices on Amazon. Nuclear Blast USA was/is out of stock of the album and no local shops had this in stock! Just weird.

Anyway, it's a pretty decent Destruction release. They aren't breaking any new ground these days, but Mike Sifringer can deliver some mighty thrash riffage and the album mostly shreds. Harry Wilkins comes back to lay some solos throughout and both Harry and Olly play on one of the bonus tracks (Destruction circa 1987-88 lineup).

Tomahawk - Stone Letter: 7 inch black vinyl with the B side etched (like the "Mechanical Mind 7 inch) I'm looking forward to hearing the new Tomahawk album. The last one did nothing for me, but this Stone Letter kicks ass.

You are giving the gift of music to your friends and neighbors, just not directly. They will be better for it in the long run.

In the mail today...

King Crimson - Lark's Tongues In Aspic [40th Anniversary edition 2-disc version w/DVD]

Pretty much tapped out until after the holidays. Ready to get my Target Earth on in January, haha!
