Got some:REV. HORTON HEAT - Smoke'em If You Got'em; MORBID ANGEL - Heretic; ERIC CLAPTON - Me And Mr. Johnson. This one deserves a quick talk: Eric seems to unleash both great (i.e., blues) and shitty albums, one at a time. Like, great one, crap one, great one, crap one. And this is the great one, he simply recorded 14 Robert Johnson songs. How can one go wrong with that??? Totally recommended to anyone who likes to sing the blues. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Great, I always liked Taz's work on RevHo, gonna look after this one. Plus, if it's good ol' rock, I'll probably love it. quote: As for the Clapton, I couldn't agree more with your good stuff/crappy stuff assessment. That's exactly how I feel about him. But believe it or not, it's not as easy as it sounds to cover someone like Robert Johnson and have it sound great. Often times the greats are the most difficult to cover without absolutely murdering the songs. So if he did a good job of it, than more kudos to Clapton.
I return the agreement, the classics are the easiest-to-destroy ones (e.g., Red Hot Chilli Peppers' disastrous "They're Red Hot" cover), but I reassure to you, Clapton did an amazingly excellent job. Okay, he plays the songs with a band, but it's still excellent. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." NORSK ARISK BLACK METAL...? You better watch out, it's illegal in Canada! ar har harRecent purchase that rocks: Ildjarn-Nidhogg "Hardangervidda" - very emotionally mature, complex ambient music from one of the last real black metal bands. (If you like Darkthrone, try the self-titled CD from this band.) -------------------- http://bbs.anus.com/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001471

Don't worry, it's perfectly legal here in Brasil. quote: Recent purchase that rocks: Ildjarn-Nidhogg "Hardangervidda" - very emotionally mature, complex ambient music from one of the last real black metal bands. (If you like Darkthrone, try the self-titled CD from this band.)
Thanks for the tip, I'll do some search. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it."
