picked up a few dvd movies the other day: Journey To The Center Of The Earth (the Brandan Fraser 3-D Version) I mainly wanted it for the 3-D effect and it was pretty damn cool. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed it. Great depth with the glasses, very funFear & Loathing In Las Vegas : I read the book last year and that was weird enough. Bought the movie out of sheer curiosity and hoping there would be a lot of Steadman animation (there was some but not enough). Bottom line is I guess I didn't do enough drugs to enjoy this flick. Weird and pointless. I gave it to my girlfriend's son, who watched it with me, to take to college with him. Apocalypse Now (delux edition with Redux version) : Not sure if I've ever completely watched this classic war film before. I'm through the first disc and IT'S DAMN GOOD. Coppolla at his best. -------------------- yawn

Pearl Jam - Backspacer (very diverse mix of tunes, as they've always done, after one listen today there's nothing I didn't like 9/20: after about 6 listens I LOVE THIS ALBUM punkish tunes, folkish tunes, rockin groovey tunes, it's got it all)Megadeth - End Game (lyrics seemed forced at times, not as catchy as classic Megadeth, but musically it's some of the best thrash they've done in years. 9/20: after a few more plays this ones really growing on more than I thought it would) Thrice - Beggars (incredible) Rodrigo y Gabriela - 11:11 (what can ya say about these 2 guitarists? amazing) Porcupine Tree - The Incident (reg edition... yep, I love this album as much as any other PT release) I'm pretty sure Porcupine Tree will be back to the states in 2010 for another tour... I'm missing them this time also because of work conflict. -------------------- yawn
