Current 93 - Of Ruine Or Some Blazing Starre

Also, Infini. Also, this shirt at the show. The T-shirt inspector was number 93, and the label fit perfectly on the eyepiece of the gasmask. It's ALL CONNECTED folks....

Mastodon - Crack the Skye (press kit with cool full color folder that holds the "Track by Track" dvd, 18 page "interview - lyrics & credits - song by song perspective", and the promo cd of the album)

could there possibly be anything related to this album that I have collected yet?

You're still missing the 8-track, the cassette, the reel-to-reel tape, the action figures, the 'Crack The Skye' pinball machine, the Portable Black Hole and the Rasputin blow-up doll. And don't let SmedHed hear about it.

picked up a few dvd movies the other day:
Journey To The Center Of The Earth (the Brandan Fraser 3-D Version) I mainly wanted it for the 3-D effect and it was pretty damn cool. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed it. Great depth with the glasses, very fun

Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas : I read the book last year and that was weird enough. Bought the movie out of sheer curiosity and hoping there would be a lot of Steadman animation (there was some but not enough). Bottom line is I guess I didn't do enough drugs to enjoy this flick. Weird and pointless. I gave it to my girlfriend's son, who watched it with me, to take to college with him.

Apocalypse Now (delux edition with Redux version) : Not sure if I've ever completely watched this classic war film before. I'm through the first disc and IT'S DAMN GOOD. Coppolla at his best.

NO still waiting. I have a bad copy of the albums and it's one that needs several listens before clicking, but now I really enjoy it, where the first 2 listens I wasn't impressed at all.

PORCUPINE TREE - THE INCIDENT: LIMITED DELUXE EDITION. (beautiful packaging very similar to Steven Wilson's INSURGENTES limited edition version. I'm honestly not very impressed with the booklet of 40 pages of "scribbled art" by hajo mueller, the 116 hard back book with lyrics and photos by Lasse Hoile is nice, but nothing that'll back me want to open it again any time soon to look at the images again. I'm mainly interested in the surround mix dvd of the album and the 2 cds of the album. Time to load it onto itunes so I have a better copy than the download I've been listening to for the last week and a half

I'm losing out on the Philly tix I purchased thru the fan club because it happens to be the same weekend that Sunfest is happening in Ocean City MD where I work and we're too damn busy with tourons to justify taking off and making the show... I'm gutted!!!

I love the new album now and it's killing me that this will be the first tour since I started seeing them many years ago that I'll miss out on. I'm sure they'll be around in 2010 so I'll have another shot. I'm really bummed about missing hanging out with all my friends and Kings X was opening on the east coast.

Huge, huge bummer schroeder!! Someday we have to meet at a PT gig....absolutely have to! Perhaps in 2010. I'll be meeting a few fans in SF this time round which should be cool.

And I'll be making a trip to Best Buy today cuz I'm sure the Incident won't be in the mailbox today.

I got my copy of The Incident today. Getting my first listen now. So far, I like it a lot.

In all they years they've been touring, they've only played New Orleans once, at Voodoo Fest a couple years ago... and less than one month before I really got into them. So, I missed out. I was planning to fly and catch a show this month, but there's just too much going on here for me to be able to get away.

Pearl Jam - Backspacer (very diverse mix of tunes, as they've always done, after one listen today there's nothing I didn't like 9/20: after about 6 listens I LOVE THIS ALBUM punkish tunes, folkish tunes, rockin groovey tunes, it's got it all)

Megadeth - End Game (lyrics seemed forced at times, not as catchy as classic Megadeth, but musically it's some of the best thrash they've done in years. 9/20: after a few more plays this ones really growing on more than I thought it would)

Thrice - Beggars (incredible)

Rodrigo y Gabriela - 11:11 (what can ya say about these 2 guitarists? amazing)

Porcupine Tree - The Incident (reg edition... yep, I love this album as much as any other PT release)

I'm pretty sure Porcupine Tree will be back to the states in 2010 for another tour... I'm missing them this time also because of work conflict.

It's been a long time since I posted in this thread and I bought lots of new stuph (cd and/or vinyl). Since long lists are fucking boring, I will limit this to some highlights:

Porcupine Tree The Incident
One of their better albums in recent years.
The Devil's Blood Come Reap EP
The Devil's Blood Time Of No Time Evermore
Amazing new Dutch band, '70s/NWOBHM inspired rock
Masters Of Reality Pine / Cross Dover
First time I listened I was disappointed, but after some more listens I'm starting to like this.
Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works II
Chill...
Drudkh Microcosmos
Wolves In The Throne Room Black Cascade
Some black metal for good measure.

Alice In Chains - Black gives way to Blue (after a few spins this is as good as any of their earlier releases. nothing groundbreaking or new, just killer AIC)

Brand New - Daisy (after 1 spin, I doubt I'll play it again... BORING. their previous album was pretty cool and unique, this is my worst purchase of the year)
