Two CDs this week, both have been on my "need to purchase" list for a long time.

- Atomic Bitchwax: Spit Blood
- Gory Blister: Art Bleeds

Perfect music for the holidays, haha.

As Dave says, this one is still available. Not sure if the best way to mail order from Europe, but I bought mine from True North Records with good results.
link >>> Negatron/Phobos vinyl @ True North Records

Got these two CDs in the mail today...

- Hexenhaus: A Tribute To Insanity
- Raw Power: You Are The Victim / God's Course

The Raw Power disc is their first LP paired with a 1982 demo that I'd not heard of before. Pretty nice little package too... Some top notch crossover/hardcore to boot!

My 79-year old aunt found my Dimension Hatross CD in her car a couple of weeks ago. Does that count?

Ok, I'll play:

VINYL:

Queensrÿche - The Warning

Kiss - Chilean pressing of Alive III which is actually half of alive II... or something like that. Flying towards the Paul headquarters as we speak ;-)

Rush - 2112

Marillion - Misplaced Childhood

That's it by now. Finally starting to recover from the Brutal Assault 2013 debt, so more stuff should start being hunted here.

Mez, if you dig Peter Banks playing on the first YES release you should check out his solo albums and the stuff he did with FLASH. Truly an overlooked and underappreciated guitarist. It's sad he past away this year.

Today's mail (speaking of YES)
YES - The Studio Albums 1969-1987 box set (12 albums 13 cds remastered and extended with new Roger Dean art on the box and mini poster)

KING CRIMSON - USA 40th Anniversary Series cd/dvd

Thanks for the tip Dave. I just couldn't believe how good they were....I read that he split with them when they decided to get an orchestra for the second album. At least that's the story.

I don't think he so much split... it was more the fact that Anderson and the guys really wanted Howe in the band, just like when Tony Kaye got the boot for Wakeman. Banks was obviously more of a rocker and that didn't fit in so will with Dictator Anderson and the direction he wanted to go; but Banks has had a career that's worth checking out. He came into YES because he was already playing with Squire in Syn, and Mabel Greer's Toyshop. His solo albums have some incredible guitar playing. On his album INSTINCT you might think it's a Satriani album... fucking brilliant. He definitely evolved over the years.

I've always loved Peter Banks' playing on that first YES album. He's a lot more angular than Steve Howe, and it gives the music a harder edge, for sure.

Found a copy of this Hexenhaus CD at a local shop by chance the other day. I hadn't thought I was even going to track this one down, but there it was... Hexenhaus discography, complete.

Dream Theater - When Day & Dream Unite Live Official Bootleg dvd.

I'm surprised I didn't already have this by now. After reading the biography on the band ("Chasing Shadows" which is superb) and finding out more about this performance, I had to get it.Should be fun to watch. It's still in my top 3 DT albums. I love Dominici's vocals on the studio release, but his solo material, just doesn't make the cut. It goes to show that no matter how good you sing, it still takes good musicians and writers to create something special.

SAXON - Live in Germany 1991
cool show. Biff and the band have sounded better (i.e. The Eagle Has Landed series) but live SAXON is always worth listening to.
