Totally agree with you Dave on the AIC. I picked it up yesterday and was blown away by it. I was a little worried about replacing Staley with a new guy but....Cantrell's presence is so major with the singing that i really didn't even notice they had a new singer.

Here's my latest haul from Amazon:

BRAZIL CLASSICS, VOL 1: Beleza Tropical

THEUSAISAMONSTER: Space Programs

LIVING COLOUR: Chair in the Doorway

BASEMENT JAXX: Scars

Wow, no metal this time.....

Plans are in order to purchase MUCH Baroness/Kylesa merchandise at their show next weekend. Sean, do you remember Eddie from the Windjammer days when I was molesting that rather...uhmmmm... large woman on the back deck of the bar??? He should be coming down for the show as well.

THE BEATLES - Rubber Soul (the new remaster)
IMMORTAL - All Shall Fall
ENSLAVED - Vertebrae
AC/DC - Bonfire

DVD:

MAIDEN - Flight 666 (excellent!)
CHUCK BERRY - Hail Hail Rock'n'Roll (4 DVD box)

Books:

Thrice - Image Of The Invisible (white VINYL 7inch)

King Crimson - ITCOTCK (cd/dvd 40th anniversary edition with surround mix and lots of other extras)

The Watchmen (dvd movie) - The Ultimate Cut The Complete Story (love this flick. this version has it all with Tales Of The Black Freighter intertwined into the actual movie, just like it was in the graphic novel. can't wait to find time to get lost in it)

hit a killer sale at a local shop a couple days ago and picked up a few goodies:

Picked up these 2 for about $2.10 each:
Jeremy Toback - Another True Fiction
Liquor Bike - Lowborne / The Beauty Of Falling Apart (2 albums double cd. i knew the drummer of this Baltimore band from previous groups and this one. he also used to work in a record store and would always hook me up with new bands he knew I'd enjoy. Liquor Bike was kinda like Baltimore Grunge/Stoner/Punk rock... 2 great albums)

DVDS:
Deer Hunter
Clockwork Orange

Hey Schroeder. Was that drummers name Eric? Used to hang at shows with him + the other Rancid Decay guys back in the day. Also... though we were from VA.. my friends and I would hit Vinyl Discoveries everytime up in Balt. Bought so much stuff there back then it's laughable. They had more cool metal than the shops down here.

Eric Dixon the local legendary drum god. I hung out with Matt Crocco, the guitarist, a lot. Vinyl Discoveries and Music Machine were my heaven back in the day. They received most of the money I earned. Rancid Decay (aka The Rancid) had a pretty good connection with the world wide underground music scene. I remember them setting up shows with tons of bands from around the world including Sacrifice, Voivod (the show that didn't happen because some dick stole the club's PA the night before) Those guys made stuff happen in a big way. I had a ton of fun back then.

Being from VA were you familiar with the band SKELETON? I interviewed them for a cable tv show I was doing and they played in MD often and opened for OVERKILL with Apollo Ra way back when. Cool band.

The Smithsonian Museum has a special sight and sound exhibit that features all my Dundalk Community College Cable 6 interviews with local bands.

I'm not even sure if I have copies any more.
Some of the local bands I interviewed were:
Apollo Ra
Mystic Force
Rancid Decay
Skeleton
Last Picture Show
Tension (formerly named Deuce that featured Marty Friedman)

and a bunch of others that I can't remember

Yeah.. we used to hang a bit with Matt too. In fact, I ran into him at a Pentagram show + the MD Deathfest earlier this year. Told me he plays in a band called Lifetime Shitlist now w/ bassist who used to be in Have Mercy.

Sure, I remember Skeleton. Played in a band (Wreckage) that played a few shows with them up in MD. One at the Network club where it was Skeleton, us, and M.O.D.

We probably hit a lot of the same shows up in Balt as VA was crap for live shows. Remember seeing stuff at New Loft (tons!), Exodus club, Channel One, Polish Hall in Fells Pt, and a bunch that the Rancid Decay guys set up at some Bel Air Rd hall. Don't recall name of that place.

Think probably have even seen some of your cable shows via vid trading back then! Cause was big into Deuce/Tension too. Saw them play many times. Best one with Megadeth + Exciter at Seagull Inn.

Damn, that's cool. I'm sure we were at a lot of the same shows back then. I remember Wreckage, I might even still have a tape somewhere. I think I was also at that MOD gig.
The scene back then was incredible. Lots of places in Maryland had killer shows happening every week.
I'll have to check out Crocco's new band. It's cool that he hooked up with Rob Michaels(I'm assuming) from Have Mercy.

King Crimson - THRAK ... superawesome!!!!
Heart - Jupiter's Darling (2004)

I have a soft spot for the Wilson sisters since I was a kid... the album is such a rocking one actually, with Mike Inez on bass... I bought it expecting nothing and I was blown away.

In the past I wished Nancy Wilson was my girlfriend... now I wish she was my mom, so she would never stop loving me, regardless of how much of a ugly-drunk-loser I am :-)
