Come on Hex, there's lots of great tunes that Maiden has done since Bruce came back. Paschendale immediately comes to mind. I've enjoyed everything they have released since the return of Dickinson.

today's mail:
PORCUPINE TREE - Octane Twisted (japanese 2cd/dvd) couldn't pass up on this with the great price that burningshed.com had it for, even though I already had a couple other versions of it.

I have all those Castle Maiden CD's up to Seventh Son, I was fortunate enough to get them really cheap through either Columbia Music club or BMG back in '02, if I broke or lost one I'd def buy a replacement!

Those Castle double discs are great, capturing all the B-sides for each album. I bought them when they first came out since they were such a great deal. It's amazing how much they can go for now. Just how many times has the Maiden catalog been reissued? Probably as many or more times as king Crimson's catalog I think.

Couple of CDs in the mail yesterday...

- Drudkh: Eastern Frontier In Flames
- Hawkwind: Onward [deluxe edition]

Digging both, but really impressed with Hawkwind... pretty great stuff for a band so far down the road.

Finaly received my pre-order of
Ephel Duath's Hemmed By Light, Shaped By Darkness. I need more spin to judge. But for now, it's far from their masterpiece The Painter's Palette.

Metallica - Through the Never - blu ray movie

Red Dragon Cartel - Red Dragon Cartel (Jake E Lee's new project. I got the actual cd today in the mail but burned a copy last week thanks to Amazon's set up. 1/2 of it sounds like Randy Rhodes era Ozzy and 1/2 of sounds like Badlands. Cool stuff, but nothing mindblowing.

At the risk of sounding like I am talking to myself on this sucky forum, haha.

This seemed to get released so far under the radar, but Coroner has "officially" released their Death Cult demo on CD for the first time ever. An LP edition is coming soon as well.
CORONER - Death Cult

Anyway, just got this in the mail and it's pretty cool. Also got a copy of Embryo's Steig Aus too, which I'm digging.

EDIT: Also came across a copy of Alchemist's Spiritech album (CD) which is an amazing find! Awesome release.

AGREED. He's the most under rated singer in thrash; but, Blitz and OVERKILL have been hands down the most consistent thrash band ever, releasing killer albums year after with no LOADs, or RISKs and no big gaps of time between releases. The same can probably be said about KREATOR, although I like Blitz's vocals and Overkill's music better.

This is like going to an online group meeting of RA (Records Anonymous) where we can share our addiction with each other.
"Hi, my name is David, and I have a collecting problem".
I've actually been good lately and have passed up opportunities to buy a few items that I have wanted for my collection, just by telling myself "Don't you think you have enough different versions of that album already?". And then the little David Devil pops up on my left shoulder and says "But this one is clear vinyl, and there were only 250 of them made... BUY IT!" Luckily I have been able to ignore him... so far!

Well, Lucky I just started. Not out of hand completely. My wife says she will be collecting shoes if I don't stop it!

I got no choice but to stop now, don't I??
