OK Mez, this is better than the other tunes I listened to from them (still not mind blowing), but if you go to guitarworld.com you can stream most of the new Arch/Matheos cd and you'll realize how lame Anubis Gate really is.

Anyone heard Entrails yet? I'm told it's like old school Entombed (the album cover is a direct rip of Left Hand Path). Might pick it up next pay packet.

Zoetrope - Mind Over Splatter ( I had no idea they released anything else after Barry Stern left. The only guy on this album from the original lineup is Kevin Michael, but the samples I listened to sounded pretty fuckin cool, and I got a used copy cheap)

Levin, Torn, White - self titled (3 amazing musicians... how could I not buy this?)

Hey Dave, what do you think of this? A friend turned me on to it recently and I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't even realize Primus was doing anything these days, but this sounds good.

X-D, I've only had one listen to the new Primus, but I enjoyed what I heard. Definitely better than the last few, which just sounded like bad jokes put to a funky rock Zappa beat... with all the other discs I've received lately it's hard to figure out which one to spin next (although the new Anthrax & Arch/Matheos have been get plenty of plays)

Today's mail:
Blue Oyster Cult - Setlist: The Very Best of (Live)
Kansas - Setlist: The Very Best of (Live)

Got to hear the new OPETH at work today, and was enjoying what I heard. The real treat is going to be cranking the fuck out of the 5.1 mix on the dvd and then watching the making of the album. Total old school prog with an Opeth vibe... This might be the album that gives Damnation a run for most plays from my Opeth collection. Metallica should take note from these guys as far as how to think outside the box and do something different but still something relevant and worthwhile.

AC/DC - Let There Be Rock, the limited Blu-Ray+DVD edition. Only 90,000 copies available! Get yours as soon as possible!

It's a wonderful package though, so I'm not complaining, hehehehehe.

"Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Today's mail contained:
ELO - Original Classic Albums Box set (On the Third Day + Face The Music +A New World Record + Discovery + Time) each housed in mini LP card sleeves that slide into a a bigger card case. Great collection for a killer price (less than $20 with shipping). Now of course this just set me in motion to "need" the entire ELO catalog. I only had Out Of The Blue & Greatest Hits, so this was a great start.

Counting Crows - August and Everything After Live at Town Hall (I enjoyed the dvd so much, I needed the cd)
