There is a video of George with his son at the studio recording Brainwashed. His son reminds his younger self so much it's almost scary.

New Dutch band inspired by Meshuggah and 'Human'-era Death and much more, yet quite original.

Cannibal Corpse - The Wretched Spawn
Really good album with a crystal clear production. It also includes a DVD with a behind the scenes movie about the recording of the album. Good stuff.

Today's mini-haul:

Iced Earth - The Glorious Burden (2 CD set) price was a tad steep but I had to have it. I ordered this awhile ago and it finally came in. Wicked booklet.

Prong - Prove You Wrong

Prong - Cleansing These are my first Prong purchases. I have a couple of sampler CDs but never any full-length. Good stuff.

Not a cd, I suppose, but I picked up:

The Accüsed Video Archives, vol 1 (live concert footage 1986 - 1991, DVD-R)

got this at their show on Saturday. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I'm waiting for the ringing in my ears to subside first.

Blue Oyster Cult-Workshop Of The Telescopes Found it used and dammit, it skips! I think they could've omitted "we got to get outta this place'! Awful!
Also found a Japanese import of "the Exorcist" in the $.99 bin! Alas, it didn't belong there! That is about it. I'm broke and it's tax time.

theres only so many double kick drum'd songs with singers shouting the F word you can take before it becomes extremely dull.

KORZUS - Ties Of Blood

I bought it from their lead singer, Marcello Pompeu, at his studio. I think Eddy has already recommended it for people here, and I second his words. Korzus is a really old (almost 20 years down the road) brazillian thrash metal band, and they put out their best relase in many many years, possibly the best of their entire career. Thrash metal, good old brazilian way.

Todays purchases:
Judas Priest - Sin After Sin (remastered with 2 bonus tracks)

Ultraspank - Ultraspank
Ultraspank - Progress (a friend gave me a cdr of 'progress' and it was worth spending $6.00 for a used copy of it, and the self titled cd was also $6, and since it was produced by David Botrill (king crimson, tool) figured it was worth picking up)

"You Must Fall" is my favourite track on 'Chimera'. And the other songs are fucking great as well. This album is not as experimental as 'Grand Declaration of War', but more straightforward Black Metal in unique Mayhem style. The production is strong and the artwork looks killer. Recommended!

no W&P box yet

High on Fire - the Art of Self-Defense
(finally found it - absolutely killer)
Viogression - Expound and Exhort
(1991, thrash/death - don't like the vocals so much (Obituary style), but very interesting guitars and drums! rockdetector says they moved to Country music with ex-members of ... Acrophet !)

Discharge - Why
(because!)

Judas Priest - British Steel [remaster]
Halford - Crucible
New Bomb Turks - Nightmare Scenario
Flamin' Groovies - Supersnazz
(love that band)

Latest haul...

In Flames - Soundtrack To Your Escape I really like it. Kinda similar to RTR, but the songs are better. 6.8/10

Helloween - Better Than Raw This was only $11.00 so I HAD to buy it (needed to get rid of my damn CDR). Great album. Even came with a poster! 7/10

Kataklysm - The Prophecy (Stigmata Of The Imaculate) Nuclear Blast finally shipped more of these out when the latest (Serenity In Fire) came out. Awesome album from a kick-ass band. Hyperblast Death Metal rules! 9/10
