Niiiiiiiiiiiice!

CHICKENFOOT - 3 (which is a hilarious title since it's their 2nd release. killer packaging that has the blue & red 3D glass where sometimes you look through both to see 3D photos and sometime you look just through 1 side to decipher hidden things... the music's pretty cool also)

THRICE - Major/Minor (vinyl)

After running 5 miles after work today while listening to MOTORHEAD "Another Perfect Day" I realized I need to get some concert dvds by them to watch while I'm on my treadmill at home. So, off to Amazon to find some, and also that AC/DC bluray!!!

Schroeder, let me suggest you Motorhead's "Stage Fright". It's the 30th anniversary live DVD, filmed in Germany. Setlist is awesome, lots of classics, sound is awesome, and also a nice second DVD with lots of extras, including interviews with the band and even with the road crew.

STAGE FRIGHT is the one I ordered after putting the single dvd version of AC/DC Let There Be Rock in my Amazon cart. Just went for the inexpensive version, for a change since I'm not a big AC/DC collector but love the LTBR album.

Today's mail contained:
ELO - Out Of The Blue Live at Wembley dvd special edition. (i've been reliving my early days of getting into music, and loved ELO for a long time... then metal ruled my life, but have found renewed appreciation for ELO again)

Finally received Pearl Jam's Ten Club Xmas 7" single for 2010. It's funny because they always promise to get them out for the holiday, but it never happens. Better late than never.

SEPULTURA - Morbid Visions/Bestial Devastation and Schizophrenia (both from the 25th Cogumelo Records anniversary rereleases)
EXCITER - Unveiling The Wicked
TWISTED SISTER - You Can't Stop Rock'n'Roll

Todays Mail contained:
MOTORHEAD - Stage Fright dvd (this will get me motivated to get on the treadmill and run a bunch of miles so I can watch it)

RISE TO ADDICTION - Some Other Truth ( I got turned on to this band when H did the 3 demo with them (which I really dig, still), and I've purchased whatever they've released since then, and enjoyed it... they still sounded a bit cooler with H singing, but anyone's better that Blaze Bailey, who they used to play for)

What the fuck is up with the Motorhead Stage Fright dvd? I was watching it last night while running on the treadmill and no matter what I did I could NOT get rid of all the commentary words and the bottom that the band added in as their response to what was going on during the concert. It was fucking annoying, because I JUST wanted to watch the concert, not read the dialogue. I kept going back to the menu and trying to click that I didn't want subtitle commentary, but no matter what I did, it never worked. The filming, the sound (once the got the guitar mixed right) and the show was awesome.

AC/DC - Let there be Rock (single dvd version, none of the extras... being cheap for a change!!!) looking forward to watching this

started watching this last night while on the treadmill. i wished the commentary inserts could be shown separately so you could just watch the concert (especially since the volume was so low in the mix I could barely hear it) , and Angus's strip tease for hall full of guys did NOTHING for me, and I found it very annoying. As Frank Zappa would say "Shut up and play your guitar". Love the set list!!!

Just a couple of used CDs, but cool ones anyway.

- Kreator: Out Of The Dark... Into The Light [EP]

- Van Halen: s/t [remaster]

Spent a lot of my weekends this past summer cleaning out a house owned by my mom-in-law, which had been occupied and abandonded by her son (my wife's brother), who was practically a hoarder. Making me not want to buy anything at all, so taking it real light on purchases these days.

Two Cathedral sets with cd + dvd.
The Forest of equilibrium documentary filmed with Lee and the doods in a pub is good fun

I remember back when Forest came out how we were amazed how slow they played, yet still had the groove going.

I really need to read reviews or listen to things before I just buy stuff from certain artists. The new Peter Gabriel is him with an orchestra, no drums, no guitar kinda boring. Can't see where this will get too many spins in the next 50 years, and wonder if I'll even bother listening to the special instrumental disc. Now I need to see if Amazon will let me cancel the blu ray concert of this that I preordered when I ordered the cd... sometimes my addiction gets the best of me.

Mez, is that Pj Harvey album the latest one? Haven't heard anything new of hers since the 50 foot Queenie days... Been a while, eh?

Admit it man, you have a serious problem. Haha.

Yes, that PJ album is her latest. And boy was it bad. Just nothing going on in the songwriting department...(just like the last Opeth..whoops...I didn't say that did I)....
I thought I'd check it out cause I hadn't heard any of her recent stuff and was curious....I loved 'Stories from the City, Stories of the Sea'......
