Whoo Hoo! Got some new CDs in the mail today...

Moonsorow - Veriskakeet
Enslaved - isa
Ensiferum - 1997-1999

All are excellent. The new Moonsorrow fucking rules! Just as epic as Kivenkantaja. The Ensiferum CD is all their demos. You can only order it through their website. It's great hearing the demos of songs like Guardians Of Fate, Old Man and Little Dreamer.

METALLICA - Some Kind Of Monster (DVD)

Great stuff.

--------------------

"Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." SYSTEM OF A DOWN - Mezmerize

Great.

ANNIHILATOR - Waking The Fury

Horrible. Thank God it was cheap.

Added 2 live bootlegs for my collection, found used at the local bin, both for not even the price of a single CD:

MEGADETH - The Other Side

From the Youthanasia tour.

SEPULTURA - Hatred

A dozen songs from a concert in Holland (Roots era), plus a rehearsal of Symptom of the Universe (1993) and three live in the studio songs from the Arise era.

Sir, that Moonsorrow is crushing! Listened to it this morning while showering. But the production on seems to be kind of weird..like they were recording in a cattle barn or something...mega-thanks again!

both are very good, very metal
glad to see Geezer releasing another album

Daddy Dave, I know how you were on a Kreator kick several months ago...have you seen the Revisioned Glory dvd yet??? Holy hell, I just got it from netflix and am totally blown away. Partially this is due to the large maoutnt of alcohol ilve consumed....really though awesome awesome performance by the masters of thrash. I'm not even a huge Kreator fan but this dvd really blows away any of the metal dvds I've seen in a while...minus Emperor.

Hey Pops.....what do you think of the new Foo? I love that new single they got on the radio. How's the rest of the album?

Also Dave and you other LC fans...have you heard of a Vernon Reid album called 'This Little Room' ??? Thanks to the most generous Neutrino I was able to listen to this masterwork. If you want to hear a fantastic LOST Living Colour album check this out. Great great stuff. 'Mistaken Identity' is really good but its more like a solo record for Reid.

Mez, the new Foo cd:
the first cd is the hard rockin one, which is cool and classic FF stuff. I only listened to it once while at work yesterday, but it hooked me.
The second cd is the laid back acoustic disc, which I heard bits and pieces while working and was kinda boring, but maybe I just need a better chance to listen to it where I'm not interupted.

I'm waiting to have time to pop it in my dvd played to hear the 5.1 mix of the cds, and watch the documentary on the making. I LOVE the whole dts, sacd, 5.1 mixed audio that has been coming out... when bands take the time to mix it properly you have sounds are coming from every direction.

Hey Mez or Neut tell me more about this Vernon Reid stuff! I've never heard of it, nor can I find it online.
He's definitely one of my guitar heroes. Love every note that guys plays. By the way, have you guys heard the album he put out last year called "Known Unknown"? It's more in the jazz rock vein, but it's incredibly great.
Also, I read recently that Living Colour will be getting together to write their next album soon.

@Maldo: nice vinyls you got there!

About Vernon Reid - This Little World : I found it on the net, the filename says 'unreleased'. I'll try to post it later...
A google search brings up pages listing this album, as "SonyMusic 550 music, 2000, unreleased".
The song 'Lost Halo' on Collideoscope comes from this album.

Maybe more info in here (old guestbook from 2000) http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Palladium/8797/geobook.html

...

Confessor - Sour Times EP [Season of Mist]
Overmars - Affliction, Endocrine.... Vertigo [CD + DVD] - web site
Holy Moses - Strength, Power, Will, Passion
No Return - Machinery
Symbyosis - Crisis
Kataklysm - Northern Hyperblast + Victims of this Fallen World
