Picked up 3 used cds at FYE, because at 30% off if you buy 3 I couldn't not get them. The Showdown - Blood In The Gears (the only other used disc I could find for the discount that I thought might be promising) Exodus - Let There Be Blood (I've wanted this since it came out but for some dumb reason I was too cheap to pay full price for it... well, the waiting paid off) Nevermore - The Obsidian Conspiracy (same explanation as above) -------------------- yawn

[/QB][/QUOTE]Right. Forgot to mention the album title. That's a link to a song from South of Salem. -------------------- "Sir, we are surrounded! - Excellent, then we can attack in any direction!"

I loved the episode of SUPER GROUP when Seb talked about coming up with the name Skid Row, and how it was the coolest name ever and so original. I remember when the 2nd Skid Row came out and I was wondering why they stole that name from Gary Moore's old band and how the hell were they going to get away with using it... and justify it. I guess they did, huh? -------------------- yawn

They payed for it quote: In 1987 Moore sold the name 'Skid Row' to the American heavy metal band for $35,000. Sebastian Bach: "When (Skid Row) got signed to Atlantic, Gary Moore heard about it and said we could have the name for $35,000 U.S. dollars. 'We have to pay Gary Moore 35 grand to use the name,' and so we, as a band, did buy the name from Gary Moore. We were all glad to do it because it is a great name for a band. I remember saying, 'Wow, that's a lot of $, but we gotta do it!'"[10] Shiels has said that he has always been unhappy at the group 'stealing their name', and said of their manager Doc Magee, "he could be Doc Marten for all I know...but he's going to get a kick up the arse".[3] He still occasionally performs as 'Brush Shiels' Skid Row', as recently as February 2005. Bridgeman went on to perform studio work with Clannad, The Waterboys and Altan.

If memory serves me correctly Moore was paid approximately $30K for the name. And you guys are wrong, the first Skid Row album is the best. How is it possible not to love a classic like 'EIGHTEEN & LIFE'????

IT'S VERY VERY POSSIBLE. I've been hating that song sing my ears were first subjected to it. More cheese in that song than what's stored in the Kraft Factory. Thanks for clearing up the controversy DBC. #35 thousand was a small price to pay considering how much $$$ they ended up making on the lame shit that sold millions on the first album. -------------------- yawn
