In our part of the country the only store left where you can still shop for cd's and find halfway decent titles is Best Buy. Like discovering a little goldmine....literally shocked by what I found. Forgot how much fun wading through records is.............................Here's what I picked up(would've been more but I didn't have much time): BEST OF BARRY WHITE
He used one hell of a fierce rhythm section.... 'Let the Music Play' is so tight its unreal! SWERVEDRIVER 'Raise' The debut album from the world's coolest rock band.

Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planetooooh, I absolutely hated this upon first listen due to his voice. And then all of a sudden I completely fucking loved it, voice and all. Bloody hell, always a good thing to become a new fan of a band isn't it? -------------------- Der der der-der DER! Der der der-der DER! DER!

That's exactly how I fely many years ago when I purchased SIGNIFY... it took about 8 months for it to "click" and we all know how that ended up for me, don't we?!?!
INSURGENTES is definitley worth aquiring. It's not as heavy as Porcupine Tree can, it's not as poppy as Blackfield, it's not as experimental as Incredibly Expanding Mindfuck (IEM), it's not as ambient or droney as bass Communion, and it's not as gay as NoMan... but if you mix all of them together in a blender, pour it in a big frozen mug, add some sprtinkles, shove a straw in it and blow bubbles.... that's about how INSURGENTES sounds and tastes. Lots of flavors combined to make one original unique album. -------------------- yawn

Agreed - I finally replaced my vinyl version last year (no record player since 1998!) and I could still sing the first song all the way through! Well, 'sing' as in that fat-tongued cookie monster way one sings old Max tunes. You know: 'sky frowz ... uh stoms ... tri-to avengeeesewfff...' A graph of Sepultura's awesomeness would show a line along the top of the page dropping instantly to the bottom about halfway along. -------------------- Der der der-der DER! Der der der-der DER!
