MEGADETH - That One Night Live in Buenos Aires dvd

BLACK SABBATH - some south american dvd that I thought would be a concert but it ends up being the Black Sabbath story volume 2. I only paid $5 for it and I didn't have this on dvd anyway. Starnge thing for Best Buy to carry.

I bought the latest "Beneath the Massacre"...some really fucked up shit! The only problem is that it all starts sounding the same after awhile, too bad there's no room for "groove", if ya know what I mean. I'm all about the cool riff!

Petit Wazoo it is!. If you like the 'Grand Wzoo' and 'Waka / Jawaka' albums, you might dig this one too. Zappa at his jazziest, lots of cool brass work and some stunning guitar work by the maestro himself.

BLACK SABBATH - The Dio Years (dying to hear the new songs, but there wasn't time tonight)

CLUTCH - From Beale Street to Oblivion (listened to most of this tonight and was NOT dissapointed at all. another heavy groovalicious slab of brutallity)

listened to the 3 new Sabbath tunes and they are very strong and heavy. nothing ground breaking just good classic Sabbath. The one tune sounds like a track that coulda been on the IOMMI album where he had all the different singers. Nice to hear the Dio era proving they still know what metal is.

The 80's Zappa was never my favourite, though I dig 'You Are What You Is' and 'Ship Arriving Too Late...', the track listing on that 'Buffalo' thingy seems interesting enough to me.

New on cd:
Ministry The Mined Is A Terrible Thing To Taste
Van Der Graaf Generator Real Time (double live album)

and 2 DVD box sets containing ALL episodes of Monty Python's Flying Circus!

Not a big fan of 80s Zappa either, but I love the band from the year 1980, especially the awesome rythm section, oh and that Vai guy wasn't bad on gee-tar either.

Two words: Tinseltown Rebellion.

I tried to listen 'Tinseltown...' again. Great band indeed, but I just can't stand that 80s synth sound.

I only got the regular edition (the special edition was almost twice as expensive!) Somehow this cd got me hooked at first playing. 'Deadwing' took quite a while to grow on me and still isn't my favourite PT album (though there are some killer tunes on it).

Haven't posted anything in a long while...I managed to get a few titles off the loooong "must buy" list:

Amorphis - Eclipse
Cynic - Focus
Dio - Holy Diver
Mastodon - Blood Mountain

Makes a nice mix of styles, great if you have to drive a lot.

The first track and title track off Porcupine Tree's "Fear Of A Blank Planet" definitley hooked me right away as it did when they performed it live last year on their mini tour to test drive the new material and the lyrics and playing are incredible. The other 5 tracks took a few plays to sink in but now I can't stop playing my copy.

I'm shocked you didn't enjoy Deadwing as much. Just the track 'Arriving Somewhere But Not Here' makes that album incredible, not to mention the diversity of the remaining songs that go in so many different directions yet still tie the album together. I'm looking forward to the live show since the songs have so much more energy now and are a bit more fleshed out than last year, not to mention I'll be familiar with the material.

Looking forward to getting the new Saxon and Machine Head that are already out but I haven't picked up and then soon to be releases by Megadeth, Rush, and possibly Tori Amos.

The new Machine Head is awesome, can lead them to the top of the metal world. Let's wait and see.

Cool, I literally just picked up "Alien" on my luchbreak today, completing my SYL collection. The live album is a nice little package, IMO, especially with the extra studio tracks thrown in there.

After some time of not buying stuff due to cashflow issues, I have recently begin purchasing CDs again. Latest additions include...

- King Diamond: Fatal Portait (remaster)
- Drudkh: Forgotten Legends
- Drudkh: Autumm Aurora
- Gory Blister: SkyMorphosis (awsome Italian tech-death)
- Of The Wand And The Moon: Emptyness:Emptyness:Emptyness (remaster/digipack)
- Of The Wand And The Moon: Nighttime Nightrhymes
- Dark Sanctuary: L'être las - L'envers du miroir
- Edge Of Sanity: Crimson (finally found a copy of this great album)
- Possessed: Beyond The Gates
- Kreator: Terrible Certainty (remaster)
- King Crimson: 3 albums... USA (30th Anniversary Edition), The Nightwatch, and The Collectable King Crimson, Volume 1
- Fear Factory: Hatefiles (closing the book on FF)
