Schroeder,The only Deep Purple i've ever owned is "Deepest Purple" & "Perfect Strangers" and i think this sounds alot like "Perfect Strangers".
It's pretty good,it starts a little slow but it rocks.It's a keeper.

Just got: Kreator, Live Kreation (2 cd).
Great sound and a great band

Morbid Angel, Heretic.
Steve Tucker on vocals, liked them more when David Vincent was doing the howling, he did a great job on Domination.

Motley Crue - Girls, Girls, Girls (remastered with video + bonus tracks)

I love it when I 'discover' a great band like this, especially when they've been under my nose all the time. Same with Priest. All I remember is the stupid glam photos of 'Home Sweet Home' era, never thought they'd be this filthy!

In the Court of the Crimson King (remaster)
Killing Technology (came yesterday)
Dimension Hatross (came today - put this in the "now playing" category as well...)

Now I'm hooked on the new YES remasters and I picked up 'Going For The One' yesterday, which has lots of nice bonus tracks.

Recieved:
Pete Townshend - Scoop 3 + Live La Jolla Playhouse June 22 2001

Live shows from Porcupine & Opeth in LA July 30 2003

CANNIBAL CORPSE, three in a row: Eaten Back To Life, Butchered At Birth and Tomb Of The Mutilated. All remastered, all with live bonus tracks + video, taken from Live Cannibalism. Cool anyway, that leaves me with only two missing in my private Cannibal Corpse collection.

All vinyl:

Sleep - Dopesmoker (the full 64-minute version of that infamous song and a live bonus track as well)
Budgie - Never turn your back on a friend
Yes - Drama (very cheap, it's actually quite ok)
Cream - Wheels of Fire
Iron Maiden - Wildest Dreams 7" (nice looking green vinyl, song itself is not really impressive, the b-side just sucks)

WHAT DO THESE 2 ALBUMS HAVE IN COMMON?
The covers and logos were both created by Roger Dean...and they're both GREAT records to listen to!!!! The Budie (NTYBOAF) was my very introduction to the band, many years ago. I bought the vinyl for $1.00 at a record show and was hooked ever since the first listen (Zep meets Sabbath meets Rush) Budgie were totally under appreciated for the great music they created. It pisses me off when people still think Crash Course In Brain Surgery was a Metallica song!!!

I received a black vinyl version of IEM - Have Come For Your Children. Very rare release

Got me a nice haul today:

Iron Maiden - Dance Of Death

Nevermore - Enemies Of Reality

Dimmu Borgir - Death Cult Armaggeddon

The Maiden rocks! Very good album. Comparable to BNW. The only gripe I have is the shitty cover. WTF??

The Nevermore is killer. Listening to it at work right now. Wish I could blast it a bit louder. Later on the Dimmu is gonna be fuckin cranking.

same here... been a long time since I bought a record on release date... well, most records I buy are not available on theoretical release date that's why...
first time I have no regret for getting a CD sleeve rather than a nice 30 sq. centimeter Derek Riggs drawing...

it's a good album, in the vein of BNW / 7th son with a few real rockers (Montségur)...
at least THEY will get to play near soon...

I was in Fells Point Maryland Monday and it was great to actually shop in a cool cd store SOUNDGARDEN, instead of online like I always have to do.

I picked up a couple used cds:
METALLICA - Live Shit Binge & Purge 3cds 2dvds - couldn't pass this up at $25.00

Queensryche - Tribe - $8.00 nice to hear them getting back on track

Anthrax - We've come for you all + Summer 2003 European Tour bonus CD
Morbid Angel - Entangled in Chaos
Prong - Rude Awakening (finally bought the thing, after all these years...)

Natron - Necrospective (1992 - 2002) Ten years of weird phonic horrors
www.natron.it
weird gore-grind/death from Italy, quite technical as well. Check it out!
They covered Message in a Bottle, and... *Nothingface* - but it isn't on this comp... (anyone ?)

Got some great new live shows:
KINGS X - DECEMBER 13 2002 & NOVEMBER 28 1989

WRATHCHILD (not those glam fags, but the Baltimore metal band) - FEBRUARY 22 1986 L'AMOURS(this stirred up some old memories)

MINDFUNK - JULY 6 1990 THE RITZ

SLAYER - OCTOBER 22 2001 GERMANY

FAITH NO MORE - JANUARY 19 1990 THE RITZ & AUGUST 26 1989 L'AMOURS

PORCUPINE TREE - MARCH 15 2003 BARCELONA SPAIN

RUSH - OCTOBER 25 2002 HERSHEY PENNSYLVANIA

THE MARS VOLTA - JULY 21 2003 TORONTO

I also recorded the audio from my Neil Finn live @ West 54th and David Gilmour Royal Festival Hall DVDS. I bought a dvd player when my cd player died and only hooked the audio cables up which also feed into my computer, which makes it easy to record. I need to hook up a small monitor so I can navigate thru the menus easier, instead of doing it blind.

Got these today:

Bad Brains - Rise

Dream Theater - Falling Into Infinity

The DT is pretty disappointing so far. Only on track 5 though, so hopefully it'll pick up.

cd's:
Autopsy - Severed Survival (had this on tape only, found the cd in a used cd-store, that means: the cd's were used, not the store, ah, whatever...)
A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step (excellent)
Morbid Angel - Heretic (ltd edition box set with bonus cd and free sticker, this is a REALLY good album, much better than 'Gateways')

vinyls:
Budgie - Squawk
The Cure - Seventeen Seconds
Ozzy Osbourne - The Ultimate Sin
Kilara - The Funeral Fix

I'm a bit happier now.
