Yep that's where I get all my King Crimson Collectors Club cds from. They started this program many years ago trying to release a live show about every other month and I've been on board since #1. It's an incredible idea, and they go from one era of the band to another with each release so you get an amazing variety of shows through out their lengthy career. they also have an insane amount of downloadable shows online to purchase; but, I'm proud to say I've pretty much avoided getting sucked into them except for an occasional show here or there if it's something really unique (like when Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree joined the tour as the second drummer along with Mastellotto). KC certainly does try to give the fans enough to collect and listen to. Still waiting for them to get back together and create another monster. -------------------- yawn

True true! Some recent local finds. - Atomic Rooster: Nice & Greasy [complete with rocket penis cover art intact, haha. See below] - (Franco) Battiato: Fetus - The Beatles: A Hard Day's Night [remaster] - The Doors: L.A. Woman [40th Anniversary edition] - Far East Family Band: The Cave Down To The Earth [nice reissue of this awesome Japanese prog/space rock] - Opeth: Watershed Had to pick up Watershed to fill the gap since I am pretty much sure I will be buying Heritage. Thinking about going back to pick up the rest of the Far East Family Band reissues before they dissapear. Damn, I know I will since the "voice" in the back of my head will not let me rest until I do... -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Yeah, I'll restrain from buying those since I've been picking up a bunch of stuff I actually DON'T already have in some form or another. MEZ... how the hell can you call yourself METAL without previously owning Painkiller, Volume 4, or Holy Diver? We'll forgive you since the ladies think you're cute... and you've turned me on to some choice bands over the years. Well, the girls had to go back to the mall again the other day so I grabbed a couple more cds at FYE's used sale just to kill some time: James Labrie - Static Impulse Chickenfoot - Chickenfoot (special edition with dvd and different cover) I also realized my previous copy of Chickenfoot has a pressure sensitive coating which disappears when you hold it or where your fingers touch it... very coolToday's mail: Saxon - Call to Arms (very excited about hearing this... LOVE Saxon) April Wine - The Whole World's Going Crazy (so have I been with buying old April Wine cds) Wardog - A Sound Beating obviously there is no cure for my addiction
Yeah, I know its embarrassing to admit. James LaBrie....wow, I know you have wide open tastes Dave but LaBrie?? I get pains down in lowest intestines just imagining what that must sound like........

Mez, actually the LaBrie solo stuff is more aggressive than the Air Supply vocals he usually uses in Dream Theater, and the new release he's singing everything with Matt Guillory who has a death metal growling approach to his singing. Today's mail: FIGHT- Into The Pit (box set 3 cds 1 dvd) Incubus - Moments & Melodies (2 cd version) flame me now for enjoying Incubus!!!! Their early material was funky and freaky like the Chili Peppers, than they got a bit to commercial & lame but still had some cool tunes scattered around. -------------------- yawn

If you liked the previous Ghost Brigade you'll like this one also. The vocals remind me of Akerfeld from Opeth, and musically like a heavy version of Katatonia. Pretty cool.Just can't get into that other band you're pushing on Mez. They sound like generic prog metal that's been done over & over again... sorry. Red Hot Chili Peppers - I'm With You. totally dig this new album. good mix of vibes from the masters of white funk rock groove metal soul rap. -------------------- yawn

Arch Matheos Just received my autographed edition of the Arch/Matheos "Sympathetic Resonance" cd. Listened to about 1/2 of it and all I can say is, you can stick all your other prog metal albums on the shelf to collect dust, because this album is all you'll need to listen to for a few hundred spins. Just SO FUCKIN GREAT !!! BTW: The Joe Perry cd I posted about isn't worth the $5.00 I spent on it.
