Anyone ever listen to any Drive Like Jehu, Last Crack (hee hee hee), or Magma? I highly, highly recommend Drive Like Jehu, kind of like Voivod and King Crimson, but a little hardcore and "postpunk" influence, try to listen to them on Amazon or something...I have a Last Crack 1990 tour t-shirt, yes! Also, I wasn't such a big fan of King Crimson's Construcktion of Light--too many versions of the same song it seems,(tracks 5-10 is like one song to me, and tracks 2&3 are one song, so there are really only like 5 songs on it to me, not too much variety, and kind of cheesy production, electronic drums and over processed guitar. How does the new one compare--also, I have the "Happy with what you have" ep, so will there be many surprises on the new album? Also, I would love to read details on the production of the new voivod album--the recording sounds super professional, is it good producers, special state of the art equipment, or just loads of money to spend? Like, I think even piggy's guitar sounds better than usual, really strong, not overprocessed either or overly tinny or high pitched--then the bass is very filling, not too loud or too soft, and drums are great, not too loud or soft, and not artificially clear either, just live enough sounding--and the vocals are very clear somehow on top of everything else. How did they do this? And boy, am I glad Steve Albini didn't produce this--he was good back in the day on his own stuff like Rapeman and that Pixies, but boy does he suck now, I think, or has really done a lot of bad production work--I think his hearing is totally wrecked, or just does not care much anymore--a lot of other producers have sort of used his production style and modified it or done better things with it, IMHO. Listening to the last few Shellac albums or the Don Caballero he produced, I am glad he did not record the new Voivod!

Just picked these up yesterday:Sentenced - The Cold White Light I love this album. One of my top 10 from last year. Time to give my CDR copy away. Cradle Of Filth - Damnation And A Day Wow! CoF have put together another masterpiece. This is so far my fave album this year and I've only listened to it twice! Amon Amarth - Versus The World (2 CD Viking Edition) Fantastic album. The bonus CD is their first few demos remastered. Mez is gonna love this.

1. Voivod - VoivodI am with those of you who are calling this more 'Blues-Based', and I am not too thrilled with that aspect AT ALL. I am about as anti-blues as it gets. HOWEVER, there are some great riffs on here, and it does tend to grow on you. I just want my f*#@ing PIGGY CHORDS and SOLOS, dammit! Also, 2. Strapping Young Lad - SYL I am having the same problem here; SYL have abandoned most of the strange melodic concoctions and industrial clamor of the past, and are tending toward these 'straight jams'. Isn't there enough crap like that flying around already? But once again there are some ass-kicking songs here, and it does get better as I listen more. And to top it all off; 3. Frank Zappa - Studio Tan This is a Zappa title I heard quite often as a teenager, and to be honest it used to annoy me quite a bit. (probably because the only song my stupid stoner friends would ever play was "Lemme Take You To the Beach" ... lalalalalala laaa laa lala ) Nowadays, I can appreciate Zappa's genius more fully, and I must say this is a damn good album.

1-Bloody Dead and Sexy - Paint it Red Good death-rock from germany.Maybe too similar to early Christian Death(that's no original)but delicious to listen.2-Voivod-Voivod I have listen to the record just 4 times, but don' like me totally.Isn't a bad record, but seems they have lost the originality in many songs. This is jus my personal opinion, of course... 3-Bone Orchard-jack I'm veeery veery happy to have find this old record, a goth/deathrock similar, in some ways, to the goth-blues of birthday party. 4-Specimen-wet warm cling film red velvet just a "best of"of this amazing batcave band of early'80.There's a video clip of "kiss kiss bang bang"in the cdrom track, very funny Great band, not only for goths.I think many old glam rockers love it. 5-Siouxsie and the Banshees-25 bootlegs just downloaded from a fan site, a good occasion to hear siouxsie live in various years of his career http://www.untiedundone.com/audio.html 6-Cinema Strange-demo 1994 the first demo of the american death rock band, the only record with a real drummer.Primitive but pretty. 7-Megadeth-demo downloaded via soulseek.demo session from the first 3 records.very raw. 8-Placebo-sleeping with ghosts another record that have not impressioned me.thay have always put something new in their post roick-pop records, but this time seems they have no ideas.not bad but not good. 9-Alien Sex Fiend-liquid head in tokyo I've got this records already, but I've find this vinyl copy with japanese insert at 5 euros!!!I must have it 10-Front 242-video an old official video with some clips(tragedy for you ecc)and live footage.amazing!!!! 11-Rozz Williams-accept the gift of sin okok, Rozz is my favourite artist of ever, and every thing comes out with his name is excellent for me.This is the recoring of a live concert with david e.williams.they played many covers and some tracks of Rozz.only for fans, but if you like Rozz Williams, you must to have it. and more thers things.... bye!! Hey 13! You need to get your ass on Soulseek and download my recently-added (almost fully complete) collection of
The Mighty Sphincter. These guys are beyond goth, man. They have the spookiest ambience to their stuff, and it is also quite complex with excellent guitar work. This is a collection like no other on slsk, because their latest album, 'Holy Unholy' was limited to 150 copies, and I got one of them. Hope to see you there.
