Wow, those sound like some pretty major purchases Dave. Seems like a lot of the shops here in Seattle are stocked up on these high-end releases starting at $23.99 and into the hundreds. Cool looking stuff, but weird timing considering the state of the economy these days. Some recent used CD finds... - Tangerine Dream: Alpha Centauri [2002 remaster] - Tangerine Dream: Atem - Hollenthon: Opus Magnum - Hollenthon: Tyrants And Wraiths [EP] -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

Man, those Budgie remasters look cool. Budgie CDs are pretty hard to come by in Seattle, for some reason. I actually have better luck with their vinyl stuff than CDs.Recent purchases. Kind of slowed down with the holidays and all. These are all used CD finds. - Blodwyn Pig: Ahead Rings Out - Cynic: Re-Traced - Emerson, Lake & Palmer: s/t album remaster] - Melvins: The Bride Screamed Murder - Primus: Frizzle Fry [remaster] - Primus: Suck On This [$2.99!] - UFO: Beginnings a weird 2-disc release that contains their first 2 studio albums and the Live In Japan album along with a bonus track - http://airlinerecords.com/ufo-beginnings/

Some new stuff...BIG 4 It's okay, apart from the overdubs on Mustaine's voice. Nice. DEEP PURPLE - Come Taste the Band, 35th Anniversary Edition Awesome! Terrific remaster work plus guitar-friendly remixes done by Kevin Shirley. Tommy Bolin was a true genius. I love this album. SLIPKNOT - All Hope Is Gone I like Slipknot. Well, their first album is pathetic, but since then they've become a fairly nice and entertaining Metal band. And this album truly rocks. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Nice list Lee. A weird combination of obscurities and essentials there.Even though I had been familiar with Metal Church since their demo days (I am from Seattle, after all), I didn't really get into them until the mid-1990s when I picked up the metal 101 essential 1985 "Metal Church" album in a bargain bin... Couldn't believe how pissed I was with myself for denying their awesomeness for all that time. Dave, cranking away on those Pearl Jam releases. That must be a serious task to keep up with. They release a ton of stuff, it seems. Ok, some minor CD purchases and one major find from local shops this week. - The Accüsed: More Fun Than An Open Casket Funeral ~2007 Unrest Records reissue and something I've been looking for on CD for ages... already have one vinyl when it came out in '87. Found this copy for $8, yay! - Cluster: Zuckerzeit - Electric Wizard: Black Masses - Hawkwind: Space Ritual [expanded remaster] - Yes: Going For The One [expanded remaster] -------------------- I am a robot... bleep blop bloop

PINK FLOYD "OH BY THE WAY BOX SET"I loved the Sabbath & Rush "Classic Albums documentary discs. I got the bluray of those although it's really not worth is since the sound is stereo only. the picture looks better than a regular dvd but it certainly doesn't utilize the benefits of a bluray disc. Either way the Classic Album Series is great. I have a bunch of them. Amy, The Melvins did a take off on the KISS solo albums and each member did a solo ep and modeled their covers and inner sleeves after one of the KISS solo albums, even down to the goofy posters. I was expecting something better from Crover, and I doubt I'll get the other ones... well, maybe I will out of curiosity, and that I'm just now discovering how cool the Melvins really are after all these years. They can be hit or miss sometimes, but when they're on, they're ON!!! Out of the few cds I have I LOVE "A Senile Animal" the best, but they have a shit load of albums in their catalog, so I'll pick one up on Amazon every now and then. -------------------- yawn
