Ahhh...

A couple of 'freebies' came in the mail yesterday.
(actually $5.99 for shipping from BMG; still a helluva bargain)

1. Igor Stravinsky - The Rite of Spring & Firebird Suite - Leonard Bernstein Conducts
These are two of the greatest 20th Century compositions, conducted by a true master in his own right.
Highly recommended to all.

2. Rush - Hemispheres (Remastered)
Other than 'The Trees' and 'La Villa Strangiato',
I have not heard this album in over 10 years.

I am really looking forward to re-acquainting with it from a new perspective.

A brief report will be forthcoming...

Hey Marginal,

I don't know if you're new to Anekdoten, but if you like Vemod at all, you HAVE to get the follow up album Nuclues. Absolutely awesome follow up! Good choice.

Morbid Angel - Covenant

Strapping Young Lad - City

Riot - Sons Of Society

Emperor - Reverence (EP)

Amorphis - The Karelian Isthmus

Music from the short film "Man Alone" by Talent Show Finalist

The last one is a buudy of mine. He did the soundtrack for this short that his old bass player is doing. Incredible ambient stuff.

JANE'S ADDICTION-STRAYS(with bonus dvd)

Picks up right where Ritual left off. I loved this band so much. Man, this is some intense stuff. Navarro is probably my fav guitarist next to Cavestany. Just cause he finds all these beautiful colors to use. This stuff makes me want to down a bottle of wine, get naked, climb a tree and jump from the highest branch.

Got myself the latest CD of Les Wampas, a french punk band that's been around for 20 years. The title is "Never trust a guy who after having been a punk is now playing electro" It's good old school punk, with well written (french) lyrics.

Pigface: The Best Of / Preaching to the Perverted--not bad for seven dollars, I love Pigface

Hey, I've got one of those too. The neat thing about it is that Piggy signed his real name, what does yours say?

Yeah, mine also. Piggy and E-Force used their real names. Away didn't. Unless Away IS his real name.

I got this one for free from a guy who bought it at one of their gigs. Eventually he discovered that he didn't like the cd after all.
