I think i know what you mean. I do not have that with some bands that never tire me, such as: Opeth, Mehuggah, Slayer, SOD, Coroner, Celtic Frost.
A lot of albums in my collection don't ask to be played in total. But when i play my Ipod at "random songs" it is nice to hear some songs of those albums and get on with the next, ya'know? -------------------- trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr ta trrrrr

Robert? Word ik hier verward met een medenederlander?. Maakt niet uit...And to avoid this thread being moved to LePontNoir section, I'll continue in Onglisch. The dutch texxxt above was trivial anyway. Re: Meshuggah - Nothing I'm sorry to tell ya, Paul, that I don't have the original 'Nothing', so I can't really compare, I also didn't have the time to watch the dvd yet, but I guess it'll be cool. But get it anyway, any Meshuggah fan needs this. Needs. The packaging is stunning, and however the original might have sounded, this one sounds simply amazing! -------------------- "Appearing like Ra"

THE BEATLES - LOVEI could say it's the album of the year by far, but then the Fab4 are hors concours, aren't they? -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Stopped at the cd store to pick up one thing and ended up with a bit more...David Gilmour - On An Island / Live and in Session limited edition cd/dvd pack (this is what I went in to buy... I hate when they keep putting out special editions of albums I already have, but I really wanted to see the dvd, so the becomes my 3rd version of On An Island) Beatles - Love cd/dvda 5.1 version. (my friend who manages the shop and is a Beatles freak told me this was simly the most amazing recording he has heard, and he just has the regular cd version, so the dvd audio 5.1 has got to be mind blowing... besides Slaytanic says it's great also. I intially thought this was just another compilation of Beatle's love songs until my friend explained what it's all about.) Pete Townshend - White City remastered and extended (I have had the original release for many years and it's one of my fav Townshend albums, so the remastered was a must, and it has Save It For Later as one of the 3 bonus tunes!!! The remastereing is phenomenal and now I'm considering getting the entire Townshend collection again to replace all the ones I already have... yes, the sound is that fuckin good!!!) Anathema - A Moment in Time dvd(heard some good things about this... so, figured I had to have it) KISS - Kissology Vol 1 1974-77 (this is one of those dvds that I would keep thinking about buying until I finally did... so I did!!! I think this is going to be a fuckin blast to watch. All the classick KISS stuff from the golden days. This is a 2 dvd set + a bonus 3rd dvd of Madison Square Garden 1977. This is what I'm going to go watch NOW!!!!) -------------------- yawn

Latest vinyls:Napalm Death - Smear Campaign Amon Amarth - With Odin On Our Side Confessor - Unraveled Regurgitate - Sickening Bliss Napalm Death are definitely on an upward spiral, well chuffed with it. Amon Amarth do Viking metal proud (yet again) with their new one. Regurgitate is pretty good but nothing really new. Confessor? Well, I've always loved them and 15 years is far too long for a band with their talent. Reforming under such tragic circumstances (Ivan Colon's death in 2002 ) is a good a reason as any and they don't disappoint. Scott Jeffrey's vocals are less shrill and musically is isn't as challenging as Condemned was but not by much - it's still bewildering! At least download a track from their website and give it a go. In my opinion they are a breath of fresh air in a sea of mediocrity, not bad for a band on the fringe of it's 20th year. Seems to me that the old guard are leading the way nowadays - Confessor, Napalm Death, Celtic Frost, Deicide, Iron Maiden - a few that really stand out from this year. I reckon the kids need to revisit back catalogues and get the neck - anger without passion and hunger = noise. -------------------- Hail Santa...

Great analysis as always sir! I totally agree. This Napalm Death is beyond good..if that's possible. Shit, I would SO love to see them play some of these songs live.
