A buddy of mine burnt a shitload of CDRs for me:

Darkthrone - Hate Them
Darkthrone - Under A Funeral Moon
Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hnger
Darkthrone - A Blaze In The Northern Sky
Helloween - Time Of The Oath
Death - Leprosy
Death - Symbolic
Death - Human
Death - Individual Thought Patterns
Running Wild - The Brotherhood
Dimmu Borgir - For All Tid
Gamma Ray - Powerplant
Marduk - Panzer Division Marduk
Marduk - Those Of The Unlight
Naglfar - Sheol
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
The Gathering - Mandylion
Thyrfing - Vansinnesvisor

and this ficked up compilation of stuff by Evolution Control Committee. Amazing shit. All crazy samples and twisted...I can't explain it. Go to http://evolution-control.com/ and get some free stuff. Especially Rocked By Rape, which is a shitload of samples of Dan Rather over a fucked up loop of AC/DC's Back In Black. Truly strange. If you like Negativland and Violence & The Sacred, you'll dig this.

Minor Threat - Live Bootleg (vinyl) of some show in 1983. Released on some small label from Finland.

Worst sound I've ever heard! Total rip-off really.

Nice haul in the last week, I'm in heaven (hell)!

Strapping Young Lad - SYL

Anthrax - Persistance Of Time

Anthrax - Sound Of White Noise

Pink Floyd - The Final Cut

Into Eternity - Into Eternity this was a great find - even the band don't have any copies left and I found an unopened one at a used shop! The original release too, not the Century Media one!

Got some kick-ass CDRs from my buddy too:

Solefald - In Hamonium Universali
Satyricon - The Forest Is My Throne
Satyricon - Rebel Extravaganza
Satyricon - Nemesis Devina
Satyricon - The Shadowthrone
The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers
Skyclad - Prince Of The Poverty Line
Old Man's Child - Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion
Old Man's Child - Revelation 666
Old Man's Child - The Pagan Prosperity
Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale
Arcturus - Disguised Masters
Abigor - Orkblut-The Retalliation
Abigor - Satanized
Dismal Euphony - Autumn Leaves
Dismal Euphony - Python Zero
Absu - Barathrum V.I.T.R.I.O.L.
Absu - The Third Storm Of Cythraul
Cannibal Corpse - Tomb Of The Mutilated
Cannibal Corpse - Vile
Cryptopsy - And Then You'll Beg
Dimmu Borgir - Stormblast
Immortal - Blizzard Beasts
Immortal - Battles In The North
Immortal - Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism
Immortal - Pure Holocaust
Naglfar - Vittra
Naglfar - Diabolical
Opera IX - The Black Opera
Terror 2000 - Slaughterhouse Supremacy
The Crown - Crowned In Terror
Therion - Vovin

I feel totally guilty having all these CDRs! He just burned them for me and said "here ya go, you'll like this shit". Now I have to go and buy the real CDs to make myself feel better. Lars!

Cannibal Corpse: Tomb of the Mutilated

Opeth: Damnation - I bought this on one of my blind hunts...didn't have a clue of what they sounded like, just the fact that some of you have mentioned them. They're alright, kind-of a Tool tuned down rip-off, but other than that they're alright.

St. Anger-
Great! A Thrash album by Metallica. Its good. Like some interviewer said recently, "If you don't dig this your just being spiteful" (towards the band)

Lacuna Coil- Comalies&Unleashed Memories
Somewhat depressing Goth Metal. Good lyrics like the Met disc. Nice artwork. The pictures are somehow dweebish. Methinks Scabbia wants to make out with herself like in those website prof photos! EEGADS!
Overall 9.5 out of ten each!

That's not 'Live at Buff Hall' is it? If it is I have that vinyl too and yeah, it sounds terrible.

I actually bought Jack Johnson's 'On and On' instead of downloading it like I do with a lot of music lately since I feel kind of bad doing that to someone who puts out their stuff themself. God, I feel like such a hippie now. Pass the splif d000d.

On Sunday I downloaded...

Metallica - St Anger

I think I'll have to give this one a few more listens. First impression? Not bad. Not bad at all. It's not 80's Metallica, it's not Load-era either. Just for the record it's NOT nu-metal either. It's...I dunno. Anger rock?

Tracks I like alot:

Frantic
St Anger (been stuck in my head all day)
Sweet Amber
The Unnamed Feeling

A few observations:

The songs are all TOO FUCKING LONG. Most should have been 5 minutes. Tops. Most are, in fact, 8 minutes or so. They just keep going, and going, and going...

No solos. Now, I'm not one of these hammerheaded idiots who thnk all "tr00 metal" has to have the obligatory six string wankfest, but none at all? I can sort of see Kirk's point about how they would have sounded like an afterthought, but I would have arranged the songs differently to at least have a few lead breaks/harmony things here and there.

The drums. Oh god, the fucking drums are SO FUCKING ANNOYING!! WTF?!? Somebody really dropped the ball on this one. Definetly the worst thing about the whole record.

Overall - I still don't know. I don't hate it, nor do I dislike it. I think I will dig it after a few listens. It's gonna take some time for the shock to wear off.

Maybe I should have put this in Skul's thread. Oh well.

No sense getting all "frantic" about it.

NUC: Seeing that you purchased a Cannibal Corpse cd, The Opeth Damnation disc is probably the last one you should have bougth by the band, because there are NO monster vocals, which is what the singer usually does. The Damnation disc was recorded to show the bands other side, and they will be playing it live while on tour with Porcupine Tree (a great double headliner bill). Pick up Blackwater Park, or Deliverance, wich I think will be more to your liking.

Hey Schroeder, thanks for the info. I knew there was something funny about that Opeth CD, it just didn't sound right. I mean it's still good music, but not at all what I expected (i.e. more death metal sound). The way the singer sounds just reminds me too much of Maynard, but a way-toned down Maynard with no emotion really. I'm glad to know that isn't really his usual approach, I'll have to check out one of those others. THNX again!

I have the Live at Buff Hall 7-inch too, but that one sounds pretty good compared to the one I bought a few weeks ago.
