Nuclear Vampire
summed up TURBO very nicely...and Ram It Down is worth the time to listen to it. But if you collect JP ya gotta have 'em...which brings me to the new Rush. I had to have it for my collection and I keep trying to get into it but I just can't. It's a little better than Test For Echo which lacked in lyrics...this one has good lyrics but Geddy just isn't deliverin' the goods like he used to.

NP: "NEVER HEAVIER" a brutal compilation that some crazy metal head mail to me. Thanx...my brain is now melting.

Glad you like it.
I'm working on another volume that I'll pop in the post to ya next month.
I totally dig old Rush and even the '80's stuff like Grace Under Pressure and Signals. My brother told me today that a used CD joint near my house has Caress Of Steel! I have to go to the bank now...

yup schroeder, thats pretty much how I feel about the new Rush one too. They meant so much to me when I was younger that I give they're new stuff a lot more time than I would if it was by some other band. Face it, Test for Echo sucked. Different Stages was fucking great though! Well, the 70's recording on it was...

The new Halford one probably isn't a classic like Res-erection but it's still worth getting, for the photos of Mr Leatherwhip himself if nothing else.

Sorry if I go on and on about Painkiller but Glenn Tipton's solos do not sound like they come from 42 year-old fingers!

I thought people slowed down after a certain age?!

I've loved EVERYTHING Rush has created up until Test for Echo. Great playing great songwritting great vocals...I don't understand what has happened to them. I can listen to anything in their entire catalog any enjoy it, except for the last 2 studio albums.

Glen Tipton sold his soul so he can play forever...that's why he has to write about Satan and death and murder all the time...it's in his contract! He's amazing...no doubt

Its funny.
You have heard of the Band ZEBRA, right?
I like them & post messages over there too sometimes.
Anyways. The reaction towards the new RUSH is much the same there as it is here!
Folks think it is booring and it has no magic.

Also on a side-note. While we all wait for a NEW VOIVOD CD. Please bear in mind that the ZEBRA fans have been waiting since 1993 for a new ZEBRA CD. No joke!
AND! ZEBRA will finally have a new one out by the end of this Summer! That according to Randy Jackson.
I think the ZEBRA message board folks have given-up all hope and believe nothing at this point. They are all crazy from waiting for so long!

Anyways. So cheer-up is the moral of this i guess.

...nevermind...go back to what you were doing.

Classic rock radio stations killed Rush, Led Zep, and Allman Bros. for me. Over and over and over they play them day in and day out........

WE TOO ARE WAITING FOR A NEW VOIVOD CD WITH SNAKE ON VOCALS SINCE 1993!!!

On a topic note, I have 3 Rush Cds: 2112, A Farewell to Kings and Counterparts. I'd rank them in this very same order.

I share your sentiments Mezcalhead! After what happened in the 80's when ZZ Top's Eliminator album was released - it got played literally to death - I can't to this day bear listening to it! Same goes for most Classic Rock. Anything off of Led Zepplin 4 makes me experience Clockwork Orange type symptoms! I wonder if the CRTC can be convinced to ban classic rock stations? Nice thought!

Hey The Outcast, you forgot to mention Blacky on bass! Oh fuckin yeah!

No doubt listening to the classic rock
stations will burnout good material.
That's one reason I have no use for
a radio until football season starts.

Pretty much...i only listen to News Radio or my ROBIN TROWER Tapes when i'm in the Truck.
Never listen to the Radio at home UNLESS its Hockey Games, or the 'Twisted Kicks' Show that comes on PUBLIC Radio every Sat. Night.
Metal at its finest! None of that mainstream crap.

It is because of Classic Rock Radio (at work), I HATE the fucking COUNTRY Band...The EAGLES!!! They are a damn Country Band and i dont care what anyone says! ((( )))

Anyways. That is out of my system now.

Oh, I am SO down with that! I fuckin' HATE The Eagles. Hotel California is such a piece of shit.

I hate The Band too. Fuckin' crap. Soundtrack for the inbred.

You know who else I hate? Tom Petty. Fuck him and his shitty tunes. He grates on my nerves like nobody else. The Travelling Wilburys were lousy too.

I (won't say hate but...) really dislike Led Zeppelin also. Totally overrated. Jimmy Page sucks. His playing is sloppier than a hooker at quittin' time on payday.

Sorry, I just became enraged when I saw The Eagles mentioned.

Nah! But I was feeling sooo depressed when I realized that we have actually been waiting even longer (since 1991) for an album with Blacky on bass that I decided not to mention that. No offense...

DO YOU HEAR THIS? 11 FUCKING LONG YEARS WAITING...

WE ARE WAITING FOR A NEW VOIVOD CD WITH SNAKE ON VOCALS AND BLACKY ON BASS!!!

Period.

Heh. Someone is gonna laugh at my recent acquired CDs...

-Judas Priest - Ram It Down: yes, the infamous remaster! I find it to be a not that awful album/CD. Actually I enjoyed it by the time of its release, and still do nowadays. Of course it's not a blatant return to their metal magnitude (which Painkiller is), but it's a nice album. Turbo is not that bad either (agree with Nuc on the best tracks), and by no means can be compared to the "Cold Lake" disaster.

-Accept - Balls To The Wall: now that's a masterpiece! I bought it from that Metal Masters series. Also remastered, with two live tracks, from "Kaizoku Ban". Balls to the wall, Head over heels and Losing more than you've ever had still make me wanna cry.

-Lockup - Hate Breeds Suffering: could not think of a better replacement for Tagtgren than Tomas Lindbergh! And, to be honest, I found this release even better than the first one! Highly recomendable!

Not that I care for your opinion, I was just joking with the Judas Priest/Ram It Down situation. Happy?

KKS, I picked up 3 HOLOCAUST cds from Bestbuy.com I just received THE COURAGE TO BE yesterday from backorder and it's the best of the 3. I got the LIVE & NIGHTCOMERS cds within 3 days of the original order. The COURAGE TO BE cd says to go to www.neatrecords.com and it looks like 'Covenant' and 'Spirits Fly' are 2 more titles that may be available! I haven't gone there yet but will after I post this.

WELL that link says it's still in development...huh! the cd was released two years ago...they move as fast as the news on the official voivod site

Maybe they are out of biz.

I want to get ALL theyre CD's.
Especially those last 2 you mentioned.

I have all the Songs from MP3.com.
My favorite is 'Victory.'
I even Voted for it over at the HOLOCAUST Website. There are a couple of New Exerpts there too...from the 'Primal' CD fixin to come out.

Thanks Jean-yves Theriault for opening my eyes to this brilliant Band!

Thanks Schroeder for the Tip.

Is it good? Didn't have the opportunity to hear any song.

BTW, speaking of killer albums, I just bought Megadeth's "Rude Awakening". Killer, maaaan!

This is a great ending to the bands career. Incredible set list, great performance...POWERFUL. Makes me totally forget they released 'Risk'!

The DVD is also brilliant.

I just bought the new Halford "Crucible" and Opeth's "Mornigrise" (the remaster) on Friday and both of them are excellent. If you want to see the new Halford video for "Betrayal" check out this link: http://www.exciter-page.de/videofiles.htm
The Opeth CD was kinda expensive, but I'm slowly collecting all their stuff so I guess I'm stuck with import prices. All I need now is "Orchid" and "Still Life" (which I already have on CDR).
Any other Opeth fans here?
