Opeth, Damnation. In a word, addictive. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." Yes, the Opeth is worth picking. It's a great album, actually. But be aware it's an all mellow album, absolutely no distorted guitars or cookie monster vocals.-------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." "All of my love" and "In the evening" would be worth the entire album, but truth is, you're totally right, it's an underrated masterpiece, lots of great songs. Back to topic, ecletic jam at work: THE BEATLES - 1; JUDAS PRIEST - British Steel; VOIVOD - Angel Rat (dedicated to Petri ); BATHORY - Blood Fire Death; TWISTED SISTAH - Under The Blade; SLIPKNOT - Vol. 3. -------------------- "Forty-five moments of perfection translated through a cautionary escape into the perils of the mundane, the inherent entropy in ultimate order, and the potential threats of eternal, unchecked apathy in civilization; all cloaked in musical expression so thoughtful, creative and forward thinking that almost a quarter-century later, few can even comprehend it, much less match it." WOW, you're listening to NEU!!! Do you have the cd with HALLOGALLO on it? If so how is it and have you heard Porcupine Tree's version of that song? PT's version was the first time I've ever heard anything by NEU and I've been meaning to buy something by them but still haven't done so. Hallogallo is a very cool ... at least the way PT play it!!! -------------------- yawn

PORCUPINE TREE OFFICIAL SITEA band that started out in a Pink Floyd vein but has pushed the envelope and evolved with every new cd they have released. They pull in so many different styles to create a very unique sound of their own. rave-groove-rock-ambient-psychedelic-space-metal-pop it's all in there. Steve Wilson, the genius that is the leader and creator of PT also has produced the last 3 OPETH cds, and appeard on the song SHUT DOWN on the incredible O.S.I cd that features Kevin Moore, Jim Mateos, Mike Portnoy, & Sean Malone. -------------------- yawn
