Just discovered a band that has completely blown my lid off,
much because of the fact that I have been missing out on
their music for more than 20 FUCKING YEARS.

The Cardiacs are like Frank Zappa mugging the Dickies for all
their Sparks records, and 1975-era Genesis jumps in to assist -
...while Mr. Bungle sits and takes notes.

Folks, I am reborn.
This is the best discovery I have made in many, many years.

There's always room for Jello.

Coincidentially, I also brought "Pure Chewing Satisfaction" to work last week (Wednesday, I think). Were the other songs utter crap, the album would be worthy for "War Pimp Renaissance" alone.

The Hut of Baba Yaga is an old Russian folk tale, or something similar. Not sure of the details, but it's the hut of an old 'Witch', which is like one BIG deathtrap. Or something. As I say, my grasp of details are sketchy at best.

The Hut of Baba Yaga was also a part of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition".

And what about the Hut of Jabba?

NP: some crappy 80s song on the radio: "The Heat is On", that is.

Ah, that's it. Mekong Delta covered 'Pictures at an Exhibition'. Case closed.

Emerson Lake and Palmer also did Baba Yaga on their Pictures at an Exhibition album.
One of their better ones, too.

Most of the rockheads discovered Mussorgsky thanks to ELP.

Come to think of it, I actually discovered Mussorgsky in my 7th grade music class.

THE BEACH BOYS - Pet Sounds.

This one can't be divided into songs, actually. It has to be appreciated in its entirety. Two word review? Timeless masterpiece.

Hmm. Band getting fucked by Metal Blade. Sounds familiar.
