there is not much too it really, we all have personal beliefs that we live by, no matter what they are, christian,muslim,you name it, and the world of good common folk all pretty much live by the same good faith as to feed a stranger or buy a guy a drink because you might need some food or a drink one day. it is kindness and instilled at birth, religion to me is something personal to everyone really and no matter what the outlook/practice even though it all comes back around to the same thing...

I voiced my opinion that there is some good black metal out there worth listening to. I did not, nor have I mentioned anything about the religious dimension other than to say I listen to bands for their music, not their religious beliefs or political opinions. Please read and anderstand what is posted before you blast off in every other direction other than the correct one.

To me, the lyrics is the music. Because, most

However, thrash music...Please name some bands - you see many thrash bands write very violent lyrics, and pretty much yell down the microphone - Chuck Billy is an example, John Connelly's vocals could hardly be classed as musical, and how about Don Doty? Hardly melodic methinks? Yet juxtapose that with Bathory for example. Yes, on the earlier albums the vocals are barely discernable but what about albums like Hammerheart? Beautifully crafted Nordic black metal!

Put simply you cannot make such sweeping statements about a genre you clearly know nothing about. Go and research thouroughly, have a listen to bands like Finntroll, My Dying Bride, and yes, listen to tracks like An Elegy of Icaros by Emperor, then tell me the music is just noise! These bands are talented, they have excellent writing skills, and as far as I'm concerned, they could suck on the balls of satan himself! I listen to music for enjoyment - if I want to read about political and religious ideology I'll go to a library and do so.

Let me draw a comparison here - English football fans (sadly) have a well documented reputation for violence and occasional racist abuse. We aren't the only ones - the Italians, the Dutch and the Germans also have their violent fan bases. However, do you see people protesting that we shouldn't go to football matches because it'll turn us all into rampaging, racist lager louts? No, because most of us, whilst we may be passionate about the sport, just watch it for the spectacle and have a laugh and a joke while we're at it. And the same applies to music - it breaks down barriers, it transcends tratitional politcal and ethnic beliefs. This is what passionately I believe, politically correct or otherwise.
