Voivod has arrived in the Bay Area. Voivod have just begun pre-production of the next record...with Jason on bass. Away will get things started by tracking drums first. Then Jasonic and Piggy will lay down their bass and guitar tracks, with Snake arriving on October 28 to begin tracking vocals. |

Black Cloud (featuring ex-Voivod bassist Blacky) will perform live November 9th 2002 at Le Medley, Montreal, Canada. Black Cloud is Jean-Yves “Blacky” Thériault of Voïvod on bass, Pierre Rémillard (Obliveon) on guitar, Daniel Mongrain (Martyr) on guitar, Florent Mounier (Cryptopsy) on drums, Patrick Mireault (Ghoulunatics) on vocals as well as Marc Vaillancourt (B.A.R.F.) who will join the band for a few songs. It will be your chance to witness this extraordinary reunion of these famous Quebec musicians and to see them perform live classics by Metallica, Possessed, Exodus, Slayer, Venom, Celtic Frost and Voïvod . Hope comes then fades. There were efforts by Voivod's past manager Maurice Richard and Iron Gang Club former president Johnny Hart to reunite all the original Voivod members for a special live show. According to a news release on Voivod.com the band would be tied up with recording the new album and be unavailable. More info here. Voivod ORIGINAL members reunite for autograph signing session. The four original members of VOIVOD—vocalist Snake (a.k.a. Denis Belanger), guitarist Piggy (a.k.a. Denis D'Amour), drummer Away (a.k.a. Michel Langevin), and bassist Blacky (a.k.a. Jean-Yves Thériault)—conducted an autograph-signing session in Montreal this past Sunday, June 2nd, as part of the three-day Weekend Extreme celebrating 20 years of metal music in Quebec.
