An excellent gig, if you were there of course!

First off, Amputated. Not so good. Very samey, and the vocalist sounded like a farmyard animal! Not only that the band seem to be doing their utmost to be as offensive as feasibly possible, but it just fell flat on it's arse with a one dimensional delivery. They need to concentrate on the music more to make any headway - none of the people I travelled with were impressed at all.

But boy were we impressed by Arkhon Infaustis - they were amazing! The mix was a bit unkind to the vocals but it didn't spoil things too much. Full blooded, rangy and lengthy songs delivered flawlessy with a double vocal attack. And the drummer...what a player! It was like he had two pairs of hands - seriously! So fast and polished, it was spell-binding to watch. Did try to start a pushing and shoving sesh but it seemed nobody else wanted to - perhaps they were all totally blown away by what they heard - I know I was! They got a good sending off when the finished and I promptly went and bought the LP! I shall watch them again, no doubt about it.

Deicide. Well, it's Deicide but with the Hoffman brothers missing! The two stand-ins, Jack Owen and Dave Suzuki, did an excellent job and Glenn was his usual smiling self. Mysteriously they missed Legion out altogether, but did cover the best bits of Deicide, Once Upon The Cross, Serpents and of course Scars Of The Crucifix, and thankfully nothing from the dreadful In Torment In Hell. Excellent, incisive delivery and the crowd loved it. Great moshpit, LOL!! Was interesting to see Dave doing some of the screaming as well, it certainly gave some of the songs a new edge live. We left happy after an hour of satanic mayhem, and I have to say they were a big improvement on their London appearance last year with Destruction and Nile, amongst others, in support.

All in all a great night out!

First, what's up with not playing a single song from "Legion?" I swear, as time goes by, they play less and less from that album...well now it appears they don't play anything from it!!!!

Secondly, where the Hell are the Hoffman bros?!?! Obviously something got really fucked up, and I'm sure the person behind the whole mess is none other than G-L-E-N-B-E-N-T-O-N himself!

Had the pleasure of seeing him in action when Vital Remains pulled through town.

I think Dave and Tony will do pretty good with Deicide. When Vital Remains played in Alburquerque. They closed out the show with Lunatic Of God's Creation. It sounded pretty damn good to me! Just have to wait and see what happens.

I still have those photos. However, a friend of mine claims someone videotaped the entire Vital Remains show...I have yet to see it.
I've been bugging him to let me borrow the tape, we'll see. I'll try and get a copy for you.

Hey were you at the show in Seattle Oct 1? They only played for like 45 minutes...

About an hour after the show Brian Hoffman finally came out and walked by me and went to the bar, he's a fucking monster!

No, I "deicided" not to go.

I really only needed to see them once (only because they had never played here in Seattle in their whole entire career!!!) and finally they did with Marduk about a couple of years ago...btw, I wasn't too impressed.

Well, if it was in '92, that must've been in support of "Legion"

Last time I saw Deicide. It was when Insineratehynm come out. Glen and Steve hung out after the show ended. The Hoffman bros. took off right after they finished. They would'nt do autographs for no one. They were alot cooler this time around. Thanks for the greeting Luna!

Mmm, that was a good gig. Deicide were better than I expected, but I was there for Arkhon Infaustus, chiefly. Wasn't disappointed.

You going to be at the Behemoth gig in January?

Only saw Deicide once in 94 with Brutal Truth, Cathedral and Sinister. Was supposed to see them a few weeks back but when I got to the gig I found out that they had cancelled.

I now have the tape, warcorpse.
It's not the greatest recording, but the close-ups are cool.

I'll have to get it copied for you and send it off.
